On July 8, Kapamilya artists Kobie Brown and Andi Abaya expressed gratitude for their projects with the Kapamilya Network.

During the media conference for Star Magic Studios’ first produced movie, Connected, Brown said he felt grateful for the trust from ABS-CBN.

“Again po, sobrang grateful ako na– you know, they gave us this project. They really trusted us to work hard, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the staff who helped us.”

He also attributed his confidence to the Kapamilya Director Theodore Boborol.

“Si Direk Ted, I want to say Direk–I want to say to you Direk– pero, you really boosted my confidence as a person. Especially sa mga guestings po, whenever I’m doing acting, sa Love in 40 days, mas confident ako because you–I remember you told me before na medyo shaky ako, I couldn’t really look at the camera before, but you really helped me po talaga, si Direk Ryan din po.”

Abaya considered her Kapamilya projects an honor while recalling how the network remained to air Pinoy Big Brother amid the pandemic and shutdown.

“‘Yung nag start po kasi ‘yung batch namin, grabe fresh na fresh ‘yung pandemic noon and when you think about it, naitawid pa rin nila ‘yung successful show pa rin. And napakilala ng ABS-CBN, kami and ‘yung mga batchmates namin noon.

“And I have to say na even though I have projects before, napakalaking honor pa rin na I got to be part of this project. I have to consider this as one of my biggest projects, kasi lead role, and I really got to push myself even more, in my acting, in my connections, with the cast, with Direk Ted.”

KoDrea or KoDi trended on social media during their batch in Pinoy Big Brother: Connect. From then on, the two worked on various projects as a love team, such as Saying Goodbye and Love in 40 Days.

Abaya also revealed how she idolizes the KathNiel Loveteam.

“I believe na the love teams here in this country are really talented and grabe yung hirap and hardwork na binigay nila to get where they are. I love KathNiel, I would always watch their movies nadadala talaga ko sa stories ng movie nila and I’m inspired by how hard they work, by how they really put their all sa trabahong ‘to. Kaya nakaka-inspire talaga sila.”

Brown confessed to being a JaDine Fanboy because of his idol James Reid.

“A lot of the fans know this–I am like a big fan of JaDine, especially si James Reid, idol ko siya talaga. OTWOL, This Time, sorry fanboy ako, basta fanboy ako, especially si James Reid, I was lucky to get to meet him, even Nadine din, the other week with Andi, they are really people I look up to, especially how long they’ve been in the industry si James nga, PBB din siya, going big abroad, si Nadine din, so I really look up to those two people.”

Andi Abaya and Kobie Brown star in the first movie produced by Star Magic Studios Connected. Joining them are fellow Kapamilya stars Ralph Malibunas, Gail Banawis, Chico Alicaya, Amanda Zamora, and Richard Juan.

The film, directed by Theodore Boborol, premieres on July 22 via KTX, iWantTFC, TFC IPTV Video on Demand, and Sky Cable pay-per-view.
