Pokwang addressed the latest Internet talks about her and Ai-Ai delas Alas where netizens are comparing who between them is the better comedienne.
In an exclusive interview with the GMA network on July 24, Pokwang said that she and Ai-Ai both have distinctive characteristics which their fans love.

“Naku kayo mga Marites mga chikadora kayo ha. Iniintriga niyo kami ni Ms. Ai-Ai.
“Magaling si Ms. Ai-Ai kaya nga siya Comedy Queen ‘di ba? Alam niyo na ‘yan. Meron kaming kaniya-kaniyang katangian [na] nagugustuhan ng aming mga followers na ikinatutuwa naman namin.
“Magiging Ai-Ai ba siya kung hindi siya magaling? Magiging Pokwang ba ako kung wala rin akong alam. ‘Di ba po ganurn yon?” said Pokwang.
During the campaign for the 2022 elections–the comparison between Pokwang and Ai-Ai was revived when theater actor-director Audie Gemora tweeted that Pokwang was funnier over delas Alas.

Back then, Gemora was reacting to Pokwang’s tweet that expressed her support for the presidential run of Leni Robredo.
Meanwhile, in our interview with Pokwang on May 1, she pointed out that even if she’s pitted against delas Alas–the two of them continue to work peacefully.
“Kung nakikita niyo po kami sa hanapbuhay namin, masaya po kamin nagtatrabaho. Masaya po kaming kumikita.
“Walang issue, wala kaming ganon. Ang tatanda na namin para mag ganyan,” she said.
