The cast and crew of ABS-CBN’s upcoming action-drama ‘The Iron Heart’ met with the press on November 5 to discuss the show’s creation.
When they were brainstorming the project, creative manager Jay Fernando revealed that they had Richard Gutierrez in mind for the title role.
He shared, “This concept, we’ve been developing it for almost 4 years, 5 years na… Walang halong char. It was actually Richard we were thinking of when we were doing this project.”
Mr. Fernando shared that they got inspiration from Greek Mythology in creating the said action-drama and they are not afraid to aim for global audiences.
Director Lester Pimentel Ong, who’s in charge of the action scenes, weighed on the kind of storytelling they want to exhibit in this upcoming action-drama.
Ong said, “In terms of storytelling, mas real, mas totoo, mas present. Dito makikita natin ang modern way of doing gunfights. Maybe we will show something different that hasn’t been seen on TV, how a gunfight is being done.”
Director Richard Arellano, who was tasked with maneuvering the emotions of the characters, shared the importance of camaraderie in the production.
According to Arellano, “... Yun ang role ko magpatawa sa kanila. Magpaiyak. Mapagtawa. At mag-enjoy sa shoot.”
‘The Iron Heart’ is Gutierrez’s first solo starrer teleserye on the Kapamilya network.
In the past, Gutierrez has headlined several top-rating TV shows for GMA Network Mulawin (2005), Captain Barbell (2006), Lupin (2007), and Kamandag (2008) before moving to ABS-CBN.
Alongside Gutierrez, the show will feature Maja Salvador, Sue Ramirez, Jake Cuenca, Dimples Romana, Pepe Herrera, Baron Geisler, Sofia Andres, Kyle Echarri, Diether Ocampo, Albert Martinez, Enzo Pineda, Althea Ruedas, and Meryll Soriano.
ABS-CBN will premiere ‘The Iron Heart’ on November 14.
