“Megastar” Sharon Cuneta revealed that the younger generation of Kapamilya stars would just ignore her.
In an exclusive interview with Ogie Diaz on February 22, Cuneta shared her encounter with young Kapamilya artists.
She compared how she would respect her senior artists back in the days when she was still starting out to the starlets of today.
“Tayong old school, kaming mga nagsimula nung araw pa, ‘pag merong senior sa aming artista kahit ‘di kami kilala, lalapitan namin— ‘Magandang hapon po. Ako po si Sharon, bago po akong singer’ kasi nasa-star struck ka rin, pero paggalang ‘yon,” said Cuneta.
The “Megastar” then said that a number of young stars lacked a sense of courtesy.
The veteran actress shared, “Meron kasing nakakalungkot—minsan nasasalubong namin noon sa [ABS-CBN] corridor. Pagdaan [nila] feeling ko, ‘Kamag-anak kaya ni boss Gabby [Lopez] ‘yon?’ Parang Lopez kung umarte, daig pa ‘yung mga Lopez. Si Don (Geny) nga bumabati kahit sa janitor.”
She added, “‘Yung mga bata ngayon, makasalubong mo lang face to face, parang [‘yung] dinaanan nila poste lang. Hindi naman ako nag-eexpect ng anything, just a little (smile and nod). ‘Yung parang kahit walang hello, smile lang.”
When asked about the names of the young Kapamilya stars, Cuneta simply chose to remain silent.
“Marami over the years—totoo. Minsan talaga ang feeling ko tuloy, ‘Pader ba ako? Pumayat na ako ‘di ba?’ Kasi kami nga, hindi gano’n,” she concluded.
