Zoren Legaspi points out the different markets ‘Mga Lihim ni Urduja’ has over ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’

On February 15, Kapuso actor Zoren Legaspi asserted that their upcoming GMA Network series Mga Lihim ni Urduja has a different market from Maria Clara at Ibarra.

At the media conference for Mga Lihim ni Urduja, Legaspi attested to the quality of their Kapuso action-adventure series.

“As you can see, makikita ninyo naman ‘yung result ng gawa. It’s very clean and it’s like a movie type feel noong itong Urduja.

“So kung sino mang show ang papalitan namin, kudos to that show na mataas ang rating, but I believe we have a different market so magpapalit talaga kami ng market, so ito it’s an action-adventure, na ang kagandahan talaga dito ay hindi pa nauungkat ‘yung storya ni Urduja.”

He also noted that GMA Network didn’t cut corners in the production of the Kapuso series.

“So ito, makikita ninyo dito sa napanood ninyo, this– so proud with GMA Network kasi hindi sila nagtipid sa projects na ‘to. Noong nagkaroon kami ng story conference, I was wondering, ‘Ah, matatapos ba natin ‘to?’ Because binibilang ko ‘yung taping eh, ‘yun pala, sky’s the limit ‘yung taping na ‘to. Not the sky’s the limit na splurge, kung hindi matapos hindi matapos, hindi madaliin.”

He cited a similar experience when ‘Abot ng Kamay’ took over the timeslot of Apoy sa Langit.

“Well, it’s the same scenario noong Apoy sa Langit namin, ang papalit noon ay sila Carmina with Abot ng Kamay and at that time. So high ‘yung Apoy sa Langit and the production of Abot ng Kamay, they were worried na, ‘Shoot ang taas ng rating, papaano kami.’ And I told them, ‘Look guys, mayroon kayong ibang market. Iba ‘yung market ng Apoy sa Langit, iba ‘yung market ninyo.'”

He highlighted the importance of focusing on the quality of the project rather than the ratings.

“And upon seeing ‘yung trailer nila, I said congrats, kinongrats ko na agad sila Mina and the director. Sabi ko, ‘You guys are going to do well, because ‘yung market ninyo–.’

“Honestly, I cried doon sa trailer nila. Sabi ko if they can make me cry, sabi ko na lalo na ‘yung mga kababaihan ‘yung mga anak, so don’t worry about the rating, the ratings will be there, ang importante you do well, you do well on your work and the rating is just icing on the cake.”

Mga Lihim ni Urduja stars Kylie Padilla, Sanya Lopez, and Gabbi Garcia.

The action-adventure series also features Zoren Legaspi, Jeric Gonzales, Arra San Agustin, Vin Abrenica, Michelle Dee, Kristoffer Martin, Rochelle Pangilinan, Pancho Magno, Gina Pareño, and Sunshine Dizon.

Under the direction of Jorron Lee Monroy with Dominic Zapata and Ralf Malabunga, Mga Lihim ni Urduja premieres on February 27 on GMA Telebabad.
