On April 19, Kapuso star Ashley Sarmiento reacted to the memes of her 2015 teleserye Flordeliza that recently became trending on social media.
At the launch of Sparkle Teens, which LionhearTV covered, Sarmiento said she felt shocked seeing her scenes trend on social media platforms.
“Nakakagulat rin po siya kasi ang tagal na po noon pero bigla po siyang nag-trending. Ang ginagawa po nila, ini-speed po nila ‘yung mga scenes namin, which is very funny po. And nakakatuwa lang po na napapansin pa rin po kami ng mga tao.”
She then maintained that she still has an ongoing friendship with her Flordeliza co-star Rhed Bustamante.
“Yes actually po, nagpa-plan po kami na magkita pero hindi lang po matuloy-tuloy. Ang tagal na po namin ‘yun pinaplano. Gusto po namin i-recreate ‘yung mga eksena namin. Naka-speed up rin.”
Flordeliza ran from January 2015 to August 2015 with its pilot episode ratings landing a 9.7% but ending with finale ratings of 16.6%.

As for her becoming one of Sparkle GMA Artist Center’s ‘Sparkle Teens,’ Sarmiento considered the project as an unexpected opportunity.
“Unexpected po itong Sparkle Teens, and dumating rin po ‘yung time noong pandemic na iniisip ko na po kung magkaka-project pa rin po ako pero since pandemic nga po noong, bawal pa po kami mag-trabaho.
“So ‘yung nga po, very grateful nga po na binigyan rin po ako ulit ng another blessing ng GMA Network.”
As for Sparkle Teens, GMA Network introduced 19 teen stars to grow their star power and talent.
These teens artists include Waynona Collings, Charlie Fleming, Keisha Serna, Gaea Mischa, Selina Griffin, Ashley Sarmiento, Naomi Park, Liana Mae, Aya Domingo, Princess Aliyah, John Clifford, Lee Victor, James Graham, Antonio Vinzon, Aidan Veneracion, Josh Ford, Bryce Eusebio, Marco Masa, and Zyren Dela Cruz.
