On March 28, ABS-CBN music creative director Jonathan Manalo shared his reaction to the media company’s plan to launch an inspirational music label.
At the media launch of Inspire Music and Rivera’s single, 3 in 1, which LionhearTV covered, Manalo highlighted how he welcomed the idea of having an inspirational music label.
“I super welcomed it, kasi ako–ako talaga sa mga pinagdadaanan natin as a nation, bilang mga Filipino din. Actually hindi lang concern lang ng Filipino, actually, global concern na talaga siya, ‘yung feeling of emptiness, di ba? ‘Yung constantly longing for something that will complete us and will fill that void that we feel from inside of us, di ba? That we feel from within, na hindi natin mapaliwanag.”
He also cited the value of inspiration amid the pandemic, lockdowns, and mental health issues recently.
“And ‘yung inspiration, never fails to somehow provide, ‘yung kailangan natin, ‘yung kailangan natin na ano eh, mag-fill sa emptiness that–na ‘yung di ba ang dami ngayon ang may pinagdadaanang mental health problems, may iba-iba tayong mga anxiety problems, especially na dumaan tayo sa napakaraming lockdowns after the pandemic, it changed our minds a lot.
“And marami na rin sa atin ang naging vocal talaga na kailangan talaga ng something na makakatulong sa mga problems natin in addressing the mental health issues and anxiety issues that we are experiencing as people.”
He then noted how Inspire Music could help relieve those struggling with mental health through their songs.
“And noong nalaman ko na magkakaroon ng dedicated label na pwedeng mag-provide ng relief sa pinagdadaanan nating–doon sa common, naging common na talaga siyang naging problem ng mga tao and hindi na natatakot ang mga tao na aminin na they’re going through depression, they’re going through anxiety, going through feelings of emptiness, and noong nalaman ko ‘yan na gagawin ‘yung label na ‘yan, ‘yun agad ang naisip ko.
“Yes nakakatuwa na mayroong something, na label na talagang ang conscious effort is to inspire people, and makapag-somehow, makapagprovide ng kailangan nila na ‘soul food’ to fill that void and makapag-offer ng relief, inspiration sa mga listeners.”
As for the music label, the Inspirational Diva Jamie Rivera takes on a new role as the head and creative consultant of ABS-CBN’s new music label, Inspire Music.
She produced the first song under the record label, 3 in 1, and performed it with Fabio Santos and Imogen.
As for the single, 3 in 1 is an upbeat song with a reggae vibe that talks about the joy of believing in God, three persons in one, referring to the Holy Trinity or God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Stream 3 in 1 digital music platforms starting Friday (March 31).
