On July 12, Kapuso actor Rayver Cruz expressed how he thinks Julie Ann San Jose is a blessing.
At the media event for ‘The Cheating Game,’ Cruz discussed what it was like returning to the filming of their upcoming GMA Public Affairs film.
“Ako kasi naniniwala ako na everything happens for a reason. Siguro, kinailangan din na mangyari ‘yun para to prepare us, both na ganito na ‘yung mangyayari doon sa pag-resume namin.
“Ako talaga kita naman sa music video kanina at sa trailer, like sobrang genuine talaga ng kilig ko kapag tinititigan ko siya at kapag kasama ko si Jules, talaga parang wala ako nakikita sa paligid ko kapag nandiyan siya.”
The cast of the upcoming Kapuso movie began production before the pandemic. Due to the restrictions and lockdowns, the team behind ‘The Cheating Game’ had to halt filming.
Before the cast returned to filming, Cruz and San Jose officially became a couple.
Cruz noted how their closer relationship now helped improve their portrayal.
“So parang nakatulong din na ‘yung sitwasyon namin sa movie. Parang mas may kurot sa mga eksenang mabibigat at intimate dahil mas malalim na ‘yung samahan namin together. Kaya for me, parang mas nag-work ngayon dahil sa–hindi kasi nga blessing in disguise na rin.”
San Jose emphasized how she and Cruz grew closer and got to know each other more.
“Same same, kasi si Ray matagal ko na siyang kilala. We’ve been really, really close for a long time and nadagdagan na lang ‘yun of course, obviously. We’ve gotten to know each other more noong nag-continue na kami doon sa pag-film.”
She then expressed gratitude that ‘The Cheating Game’ did not get shelved.
“Grateful pa rin kami kasi siyempre, natuloy pa rin ‘yung movie, at hindi siya na shelf. And we still had the opportunity to be able to continue kung ano man ‘yung nasimulan namin.”

Finally, Cruz asserted that he considers ‘The Cheating Game’ and San Jose a blessing.
“This movie is a blessing for me–and you’re a blessing for me every day.”
The GMA Public Affairs film ‘The Cheating Game’ stars San Jose, Cruz, Martin del Rosario, and Winwyn Marquez.
The cast also features Paolo Contis, Thea Tolentino, Yayo Aguila, Candy Pangilinan, Jose Sarasola, and Phi Palmos.
Directed by Rod Marmol and created by Shao Masula, ‘The Cheating Game’ opens in cinemas nationwide starting July 26.
