Kapuso and Kapamilya netizens were united in challenging Movies and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to also summon its Chairperson Lala Sotto’s parents after their alleged misconduct in the show “E.A.T.” following the agency’s summoning of “It’s Showtime” over Vice Ganda and Ion Perez’s alleged indecent act.
During the recent National Dabarkads Day celebration on ‘E.A.T.,’ on Saturday, July 29, Tito Sotto affectionately showered his wife Helen Gamboa with kisses, prompting netizens to compare it to Vice and Ion’s icing eating moment on It’s Showtime since it was also aired on national TV.
In a tweet together with the clip of Mr and Mrs. Sotto’s moment, @GMAAltPlayGrnd called on MTRCB to act also on E.A.T.’s incident since they’ve already asked It’s Showtime to answer the complaint against them.

@pookiepay pointed out MTRCB’s apparent silence over ‘E.A.T.,’ raising concerns about consistency in their actions.

Journalist Jonathan Sy, meanwhile, highlighted the potential conflict of interest, as MTRCB Chair Lala Sotto is the daughter of Tito Sotto, one of the hosts of It’s Showtime’s rival program.

Netizens expressed their reactions after the MTRCB summoned “It’s Showtime” under the allegation of violating Section 3 (c) of Presidential Decree No. 1986.
“The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) issued a Notice to Appear and Testify to the Producers of the noontime variety show ‘It’s Showtime’ over complaints concerning scenes that portrayed alleged indecent acts by hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez during the variety show’s ‘Isip Bata’ segment which aired last 25 July 2023 on channels GTV and A2Z DZOZ/DZOE 11,” the agency said.
