Kapuso Action-Drama Prince Ruru Madrid has offered a candid glimpse into his personal life, sharing insights into navigating a loving relationship and conquering professional hurdles.
The actor shared his thoughts during a press conference for the upcoming television series ‘Black Rider’ on October 27, 2023.
In a conversation with members of the entertainment media, Ruru Madrid delved into the challenges he and his girlfriend, Bianca Umali, have confronted during their five-year relationship. These experiences have proven instrumental in solidifying their connection.
He shared, “Before kasi, when we were starting, Bianca kasi was an introvert. Sometimes, kapag may mga problema siya, kinikimkim niya. Hindi niya sinasabi sa akin. Ang tendency, lumalaki na pala ang problema. So I guess, natutunan naming dalawa kung paano pag-usapan ang mga bagay. Like for example, nagkaroon kami ng problema, bago matapos ang gabi, kailangan naming pag-usapan yan para at least, okay.”
One of the intriguing revelations made by Ruru was that, in their relationship, he is the more communicative partner. He is often the one to initiate open conversations, and he has observed that Bianca has made a conscious effort to become more expressive and proactive in addressing issues.
He further elaborated, “Ako ang mas madaldal sa relationship. So, parang ako yung mas nag-o-open up. I can see yung effort din ni Bianca pagdating sa mga ganoon. Nag-o-open up na rin siya. Siya ang magsisimula ng usapan pagdating sa mga nagiging problema naming dalawa. So yun, parehas. Parehas kaming nag-mature pagdating sa mga bagay na dapat kaming mag-mature.”
Ruru also reflected on the personal growth he and Bianca have experienced as a couple, emphasizing the role that communication has played in resolving their concerns and fostering their partnership. He underscored how their personalities have evolved, with him becoming more expressive and Bianca becoming more extroverted.
The discussion extended to Ruru’s perspective on his career journey and how he has coped with moments of despair, especially when confronted with negativity from individuals he believed were his supporters.
He recounted moments of profound hopelessness, during which he felt that his dreams were slipping away.
“Even yung mga tao na malapit sa akin, parang nararamdaman ko na unti-unting nawawala, pero na-realize ko na baka may itinuturo sa akin ang Diyos.”
However, he experienced a turning point when he questioned why he should abandon the ten years of hard work and determination he had invested, particularly when no one else had faith in him except himself.
“Ang sakit. Natutulog ako na umiiyak. Dumating sa point na naniwala na ako na wala nang mangyayari sa akin. Na hindi ko na makakamtan ang mga pangarap ko. But then, isang araw na-realize ko, ‘Bakit ko isusuko yung 10 taon na pinaghirapan ko? Yung mga panahon na walang naniniwala sa akin?’”
Ruru emphasized that he was the sole believer in his abilities and goals. Consequently, he decided not to capitulate, and eventually, the breakthrough he had longed for occurred, referring to his role in the 2022 primetime series ‘Lolong.’
The actor, who presently takes the lead role in GMA Network’s prime-time action series ‘Black Rider,’ shared that his journey has been characterized by both struggles and accomplishments. Each experience has contributed to his personal and professional growth, shaping the person he has become.
Concerning his relationship with Bianca Umali, Ruru described her as his perfect match and someone with whom he envisions spending the rest of his life. In spite of his earlier aspirations to have children and not settle down with one individual, he realized that his feelings for Bianca have shifted his perspective.
Ruru expressed tremendous pride in the depth of his emotions for Bianca and emphasized that she is the person he envisions sharing his life with.
