Actress Alexa Ilacad and her on-screen partner, KD Estrada, are aiming to transform their reel-life partnership into a real-life romance, drawing inspiration from the well-known Filipino showbiz couple, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.
The duo shared their aspirations in an interview with ABS-CBN News on December 8.
Ilacad, known for her role in ‘Pira-Pirasong Paraiso,’ expressed her desire for Estrada to be her “endgame,” emphasizing her goal of following the path of love teams that evolved into actual couples, with Dingdong and Marian serving as a prime example.
While acknowledging the positive impact of their KDLex love team on their careers, both actors clarified that they are not limiting themselves exclusively to joint projects. Ilacad highlighted the openness of their management to individual exploration within the love team context.
“We are very fortunate now that people are more open to have love teams that explore solo projects. Maybe in a few months we can do projects together, then solo. It is for the growth of partnership,” said Ilacad.
Estrada echoed this sentiment, expressing gratitude for the industry trend that allows love teams to engage in solo projects while still collaborating to foster the growth of their partnership.
Despite the challenges associated with love teams, Ilacad acknowledged the uncertainties and difficulties, citing the recent breakup of KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla) as a source of sadness.
Looking ahead, Ilacad affirmed her commitment to support Estrada in his career and personal endeavors, stating, “Whatever happens in this career, I would love to pursue whatever he is passionate about.”
