The newest addition to the Vivamax family, Irish Tan, landed her first lead role in ‘Lady Guard,’ which she admitted on May 2 was challenging.
“Ayun po, sobrang na-challenge ako sa role ko as lady guard. Unang-una sa lahat, wala akong experience, and wala akong alam kung paano and ano ba talaga sila. Ayun po, na-challenge ako ng sobra,” she admitted during the movie’s press conference at Viva Cafe.
Before becoming a sexy actress, Tan was a car show model. She was living in Malaysia before returning to the Philippines and joining Vivamax.
However, “Lady Guard” is not her first sexy project, as she has played parts in films like “Stag” and “TL.” This is her first big role, though, which means the pressure was high.
The newbie sexy star admitted to feeling pressured, especially since she would be working with filmmaker Bobby Bonifacio Jr. As a newcomer, Tan was afraid to make mistakes, adding to the already nerve-wracking role.
“Noong una po talaga, medyo na-pressure ako kay Direk. Pero, good thing po is habang may taping po kami… Sobrang na-pressure po ako kasi po siyempre as bago po, natatakot po ako na baka ang pagkakamali ko makaapekto sa lahat.”
But after working with Direk Bobby, she realized how passionate and dedicated the director was. The fruit of their hard work assured her that her first lead project would be a success.
“Pero habang patagal nang patagal po ang taping namin, na-realize ko na sobrang sarap po palang katrabaho ni Direk. Kasi hindi niya tinitigil hangga’t hindi po namin nape-perfect ang bawat eksena. Kaya alam ko na kapag pinalabas ito hindi kami mapapahiya sa mga tao.”
‘Lady Guard’ is available for streaming on Vivamax starting May 3.
