Vivamax star Nico Locco has entered the ongoing controversy between Nikko Natividad and Vice Ganda, posting a lengthy message on his Facebook page on Thursday night (June 6).
In his post, Nico expressed frustration over what he perceives as recurring personal attacks on television. “Konting rant here kasi I’ve seen it going on for too long. Di ko sasabihin any names here… but I think we all know who I’m talking about,” he began.
“If you have to make fun of people and take personal shots at them palagi to make people laugh, it’s s0000 not funny. Para sa akin, it’s simply a lack of intelligence and creativity. I’m so tired of seeing it pa ulit ulit on TV.”
Nico continued, “I won’t mention the show or network that repeatedly does it pero yeah, you know what I mean. Belittling someone to make people laugh doesn’t make you a comedian. It makes you a bully.”
He further suggested that the person in question should experience what it’s like to be on the receiving end of such jokes, stating, “I would love to see that specific person jump into their shoes for once para maramdaman niya what it feels like. Siguro he or she wouldn’t be laughing anymore.”
Nico’s post comes amid the fallout from an incident on It’s Showtime’s ‘EXpecially For You’ segment, where contestant Axel Cruz was called out by Vice Ganda for attempting to kiss searcher Christine without consent. The situation quickly escalated on social media.
Axel explained on the show that he did not intend to kiss Christine, and Christine herself defended him, but the controversy had already grown. Vice Ganda’s intentions were to protect Christine, but the situation led to Axel feeling humiliated. Vice later retracted his apology, yet urged viewers to stop bashing Axel and Christine.
Nikko Natividad previously posted, and later deleted, messages perceived as directed at Vice Ganda, contributing to the ongoing public discourse.
Nico Locco himself has faced criticism from the Madlang Pipol after his guest appearance on ‘EXpecially For You’ with ex Christine Bermas, where he received negative comments for allegedly being a cheater.
