Veteran television host Willie Revillame remains steadfast as he prepares for his television comeback on July 15 with his new game show ‘Wil To Win,’ despite facing direct questions about past controversies.
During a guest appearance on TV5’s ‘Usapang Seryoso,’ Gretchen Ho candidly brought up the historical petition to remove Willie from ABS-CBN’s ‘Wowowee,’ citing alleged disrespect towards the late President Cory Aquino (SLN).
Rather than being ruffled by the revelation, Willie responded assuredly, “Hindi ka naman nag-iisa, eh. Marami bang nagpetisyon?”
When Gretchen admitted she wasn’t aware of the petition’s impact, Willie pointed out that during that period, ABS-CBN management had favored those seeking his removal from ‘Wowowee’ over his continued presence.
In a light-hearted exchange, Willie jokingly remarked to Gretchen, “Alam mo ba ‘yun, eh, isa ka lang sa mga nagpepetisyon, ilang milyon ‘yung gustong bumalik ka (meaning si Willie). Talo ka.”
Despite past controversies, Willie enjoys strong support from fans, especially among older viewers, as he readies for his return to TV on July 15 at 5 PM with ‘Wil To Win’ on TV5.
