With SM alone, pre-sales for the highly-anticipated reunion film, has already registered incredible numbers.
Joshua Garcia and Julia Barreto’s reunion romantic-drama film, Un/Happy For You, will rake millions. That’s at least what the movie’s pre-sales at SM Cinemas are telling us. Pre-sales are ticket purchases paid in advance by moviegoers ahead of a film’s actual showing date. It does not reflect the actual gross of the film, but gives an idea how strong its box office performance going to be.
The new Star Cinema film will welcome its first regular audiences on Wednesday, August 14, but money has already been pouring to Star Cinema and cinema owners’ coffers, days before. At 1:00 AM, today, August 14, Un/Happy For You, has already raked in ₱ 2.2 million in pre-sales, at SM Cinemas. Other big cinema chains, including Robinson’s Movieworld and Ayala Cinemas, are seen to duplicate the trend.
Judging the initial figures, it seems the much-awaited comeback movie from the ex-lovers, is poised to deliver exceptionally at the box office. ₱10 million opening day? Highly-possible. If this projection is right, then Un/Happy For You will be Star Cinema’s first box office hit, this year, after the phenomenal success of the Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes-topbilled, Rewind.
