Ella Cruz vows legal action against satire Facebook page for spreading misinformation

Viva star Ella Cruz has publicly condemned a satire Facebook page that has been using her name and photos to spread false information.

On Monday, September 2, Cruz took to her official Facebook account to express her frustration and warn the administrators of the page.

The actress revealed that this was not the first time the page had impersonated her. The latest post falsely attributed a statement to Cruz, claiming she questioned the need for class suspensions during a storm, allegedly saying, “Hindi dapat hadlang ang malalakas na ulan at hangin sa pag-abot mo sa pangarap mo.”

Irritated by the continued misuse of her identity, Cruz decided to address the issue directly. “Unang beses na pinost nyo ko pinalampas ko pero etong pangalawa di ko pababayaan,” she asserted in her post.

Cruz specifically called out the page’s administrators, including one named “Mina Okada,” accusing them of hiding behind fake names while using her identity to gain attention.

Although Cruz is aware that the page is intended as satire, she expressed concern over the number of people who take its posts seriously.

In a separate post, Cruz listed the usernames of those she believes are responsible for the page, vowing to take legal action. “Pangako. Ipakukulong ko kayo: Winter Xoda, Una Vittia, Miyeon Archive, Jiyun Hwee,Kenzo Shibama, Analyn Restricted, Thalia Huxley, Mina Okada, Lucy Pearl, Analyn Restricted II,” she declared.

Cruz’s strong response highlights the challenges public figures face in dealing with online impersonation and misinformation, as well as the impact it can have on their reputation.
