Actor Buboy Villar recently clarified his relationship with social media personality Jelai Andres, addressing rumors and emphasizing that their bond is purely platonic.
In a candid interview on the November 5 episode of GTV’s new afternoon show ‘Lutong Bahay,’ Buboy, alongside hosts Mikee Quintos and Hazel Cheffy, opened up about his close friendship with Jelai.
Reflecting on his dynamic with Jelai, Buboy said, “Alam mo namang best friend ko si Ruru [Madrid], ‘di ba? So alam ko ‘yung pakiramdam ng isang best friend, at naramdaman ko kay Jelai ‘yun.”
He highlighted the importance of friendships that transcend gender, adding, “Puwedeng mangyari ‘yun na isang lalaki, magiging best friend ang babae. Puwede ‘yun, na walang halong label o walang kahit anong kalandian.” He shared that Jelai holds a lasting place in his life as a friend, saying, “Sabi ko [kay Jelai], panghabang-buhay ko siyang magiging best friend.”
On the topic of his former partner, Angillyn Gorens, with whom he shares two children, Buboy clarified that their relationship is focused solely on co-parenting. “Hindi ko rin ma-explain, pero ayaw ko kasing ipilit ‘yung mga bagay na parang hindi na [magwo-work],” he shared. “Kumbaga, masaya ako sa sitwasyon namin ngayon dahil naka-focus kaming dalawa sa mga anak namin. Wala kaming gusto sa future kung hindi mapaganda ang kinabukasan ng mga anak namin.”
When asked by Mikee if he believes his current setup will stand the test of time, Buboy affirmed his confidence, saying, “Yes.”
