Kapuso actor David Licauco confirmed his single status during his guest appearance on ‘It’s Showtime’ on January 8, exciting fans of the BarDa love team.
Licauco, known as the “Pambansang Ginoo,” participated in the ‘And The Breadwinner Is’ segment, where Vice Ganda playfully asked, “David, may partner ka ba?”
David initially replied, “Wala po, single. Single po,” which sent fans into a frenzy.
Vice quipped, “Ang tinatanong ko naman sa business. Ikaw naman, love life kaagad.”
The Maria Clara at Ibarra star confirmed that he was “single” both in love and business. When Vice pressed further with, “Single ka ba ngayon?” David confidently answered, “Opo.”

Aside from his TV guesting, Licauco previously engaged with his followers during a livestream promoting his coffee business, Good Drip. When asked if he believed in the “three-month rule”—a belief that one should wait three months after a breakup before entering a new relationship—Licauco agreed.
“Dapat siguro oo,” he said. “You need time to heal yourself so that the baggage from your past relationship won’t carry over to the next one.”
He emphasized the importance of self-improvement before jumping into a new romance.
“You have to work on yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually before starting another relationship. Self-care muna para maiwasan ang parehong problema,” he added.
David’s revelation follows the announcement from Barbie Forteza that she and longtime boyfriend Jak Roberto have broken up after seven years together. Barbie and David’s on-screen pairing in ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’ has earned a huge fanbase, and their chemistry fueled hopes for a potential real-life romance.
Since both stars are now single, fans have speculated that there may be a chance for the two to be more than just an on-screen pair. However, Licauco has not yet addressed rumors regarding a potential romance with Forteza.
