TV5, in collaboration with MLD Entertainment, has unveiled its latest reality-talent competition, ‘Be The Next 9 Dreamers (BTN9D).’ However, how did it perform in the competitive TV ratings landscape?
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey, BTN9D had a slow start, debuting at the lower end of the overall ratings board.
On its pilot episode aired on Saturday, February 8, the show registered a rating of 1.5%, placing 27th overall. This performance was significantly lower than its predecessor, ‘Rainbow Rumble,’ which secured a 5.2% rating the previous week, landing at #6 on the charts.
However, when compared to another MLD co-produced survival show, ‘Dream Maker’ (which aired on ABS-CBN), BTN9D performed similarly. Dream Maker recorded the same 1.5% rating during its January 14, 2023 broadcast.
Despite the modest start, BTN9D promises an exciting journey, hosted by Sandara Park, the “Pambansang Krung-krung.” The show features talented contestants from the Philippines and other Asian countries, all vying for a spot in a new nine-member boy group. From a global audition held in 2024, only 75 hopefuls made the cut and are now competing for their dream.
Adding to the show’s star power, the panel of mentors and judges includes EXO’s Chen, AB6IX’s Park Woojin, Bang Yedam, HORI7ON’s Vinci, Hyebin (formerly of MOMOLAND), MLD performance director Bae Wan Hee, and producer Bullseye.
‘Be The Next 9 Dreamers’ airs every Saturday and Sunday at 7 PM on TV5.
