Women in the tech industry have made significant strides in recent years. According to a study by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), while the sector remains predominantly male-dominated, women now make up 32 percent of the IT industry workforce—a testament to the growing recognition of their contributions.

Although this figure remains relatively small, it highlights the increasing acknowledgment of women’s role in shaping the future of IT.

delaware Philippines stands at the forefront of this progress. As a global leader in delivering advanced ICT solutions and services, the company has demonstrated that innovation and transformation flourish when women lead. The company is committed to fostering gender diversity and inclusion in the tech sector.

Empowering women through leadership and growth

Their commitment stems from their belief that true innovation comes from diverse perspectives. By championing women in leadership and technical roles, the company actively cultivates an environment where women can excel, innovate, and lead groundbreaking tech advancements in across key industries in the Philippines.

In fact, 75 percent of leadership position in the company are carried and led by women, underscoring the company’s commitment to gender diversity at the highest levels. Notable leaders include Partner and Managing Director Rosette Carrao and Senior Vice President for Customer Success Simone Pigason. Their leadership has been instrumental in transforming the company’s business model, expanding market reach, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

Opening opportunities for women in tech

Beyond leadership, delaware Philippines is committed to expanding career opportunities for women in IT, even for those coming from non-technical backgrounds. One of its key initiatives is a fast-paced, rigorous, and comprehensive five-month SAP training program designed for career shifters who aspire to break into the world of SAP consulting, and some of these career shifters are women.

This program aims to invigorate the SAP industry in the Philippines by increasing the number of certified SAP consultants. By providing mentorship, technical training, and real-world application, delaware Philippines ensures that women—regardless of their previous industry—could thrive in SAP consulting.

“We believe that talent knows no gender. We want to empower women to take on new challenges in tech, equipping them with the tools they need to succeed in SAP consulting. It’s all about creating equal opportunities and breaking barriers,” Carrao reiterated.

Championing gender parity in the company

With a 46 percent women-to-men ratio—an almost perfect Gender Parity Index of 1 or close to 50:50 ratio, the company is a testament to the power of diverse and inclusive decision-making. Pigason has ensured that gender diversity remains a central topic in executive discussions, particularly in hiring and promotions. Under the leadership of HR Lead Joan Tercero, the company has prioritized policies that support women’s growth and success in the organization.

“It’s about ensuring they are heard, valued, and supported. At delaware Philippines, we have cultivated a culture where women uplift one another, advocate for each other, and create more opportunities for the next generation of female leaders,” shared Pigason.

Tercero echoed this sentiment, stating “True gender parity goes beyond representation. It means fostering a workplace where women can thrive, innovate, and lead without limitations. Our commitment is not just about filling headcount but about creating meaningful impact,” she stated.

Paving the way for future generations of women in tech

As the tech industry continues to evolve, delaware Philippines remains steadfast in its mission to empower women, break barriers, and drive innovation. Through inclusive leadership, mentorship programs, and industry-leading training, the company is shaping a future where women are not just participants but leaders of technological transformation.
