Martin Riggs, together with The Busking Community PH, successfully held “Mar10 Day,” a vibrant celebration of music, creativity, and community.
The event, which took place at Central Garden, The Shops, Grand Central Park, BGC on March 10, 2025, gathered street performers, music lovers, and creatives for an unforgettable night of live performances and artistic expression.
According to Riggs, ‘Mar10 Day’ – a clever play on his name – “has been a gathering of buskers inside and outside of The Busking Community PH since 2024. It’s a TBCPH ‘holiday’ where buskers can relax and have fun with other buskers.”
This year, the event lived up to its purpose, as performers and attendees alike enjoyed a festive atmosphere filled with diverse talent and passionate performances.
From 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the stage was graced by an exciting lineup of performers, including Project Romeo, Magael De Leon, Pop N Seb, Jepitot, Tyrone, Juls, Leo Santos, Zachary Kuribu, JC Ortega, Joshua Garalde, Jet Nekko and The Chinito Walkers, Lacanlale, Kate Torres, Lylee, and many more. The mix of singers, musicians, dancers, poets, and live artists showcased the incredible talent within the busking community, making the night truly special.
Crowds gathered around, singing along, clapping, and cheering for their favorite acts, highlighting the powerful connection between buskers and their audience. Attendees expressed their appreciation for the raw and authentic performances that only a community-driven event like Mar10 Day could offer.
The Busking Community PH, co-founded by Riggs, has been instrumental in creating a thriving space for street musicians, giving them opportunities to be heard and supported. ‘Mar10 Day’ is more than just a celebration—it’s a movement that champions the power of live, unfiltered performances in public spaces.
When asked about the future of TBCPH, Riggs shared, “Three to five years from now, I see TBCPH’s network as solid in Visayas, starting in Mindanao, and launching international busking plans like airport busking, etc.”
His passion for the movement is fueled by the community itself. “The buskers and my team inspire me to continue this movement. Yung mga success at challenges nila ang nag pu push sa akin para bumangon at gawin ito, full time. Pangarap kong mangyari ang mga pangarap nila.”
As the night came to a close, the overwhelming success of ‘Mar10 Day’ left attendees and performers inspired and hopeful for future editions.
When asked about dream collaborations, Riggs expressed his hopes of inviting notable artists to busk with TBCPH. “Locally, I would love to have Hev Abi join us. Internationally, Ed Sheeran would be a dream guest!”
With the continued support of the community, ‘Mar10 Day’ has proven to be more than just an event—it is a celebration of artistry, passion, and the boundless possibilities of busking.
