Rise Artist Studio talent Gela Alonte couldn’t be more proud of her boyfriend, ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ housemate River Joseph, who has been making waves inside the famous house with his warmth and charm.
Dubbed by netizens as having major “golden retriever energy” and “green flag” qualities, River has captured hearts with his friendly, thoughtful, and positive personality—traits that Gela herself says she completely understands.
“Well, first of all, I don’t blame them because I get it,” Gela shared during her red carpet interview with DJ Jhai Ho at the ABS-CBN Ball 2025 last April 4. “Kahit sino naman mapo-fall at magugustuhan ang ugaling golden retriever ni River. Kaya nga #goldenretRIVER.”
The Kapamilya starlet revealed how touched she’s been by River’s sweet and thoughtful gestures, even while he’s inside the ‘PBB’ house.
On Instagram, Gela posted about receiving a surprise bouquet of flowers that River had prepared in advance for their monthsary. She also shared scheduled Instagram messages that River left for her before entering the show.
One message read, “Always thinking about you my love,” which Gela reposted in her stories, clearly moved by his efforts.
“Obviously, naiyak-iyak ako,” Gela admitted. “Si Ate Girl mo hindi na talaga nagmukhang demure.”
She added, “That’s where you really see how thoughtful and loving River is.”
When asked what her message is for her boyfriend, Gela had this to say: “Wish ko na mag-stay strong siya, magpakatatag siya dahil kailangan umabot siya sa Big Night.”
Gela Alonte, who recently graduated with a degree in Life Science and Biochemistry from Ateneo de Manila University in 2024, continues to cheer River on from outside, proving that love and support can go a long way—even from beyond the ‘PBB’ walls.
