‘Ang Mutya ng Section E’ breakout star Ashtine Olviga has deactivated her social media accounts after drawing online attention for wearing the same outfit throughout her media day appearances.
Olviga, who is turning 26 on May 19, addressed the incident during the launch of her unisex fragrance ‘Ash Scent Beyond Gender’ under Viva Beauty.

“Nagulat ako sumabog online. ‘Di ko inexpect. Yung mga tao tumutulong sa akin, nakakahiya sa kanila,” she said.
“Imbis na maubos energy umuwi, pinili namin mag-rest in between. Biglaan interviews, the night before lang namin nalaman… Nahihirapan ako maghanap ng damit kahapon. Biglaan kasi event,” she explained.
She admitted feeling overwhelmed by the online reaction and said it prompted her decision to go offline.
“Feeling ko ‘di ako strong sa social media,” she confessed. “Minsan ikaw na gagawa ng help sa sarili mo if masyado ka nang na-bobother o masyado na pumapasok sa heart yung nakikita mo.”
Despite the harsh online environment, Ashtine remains grateful and grounded. Known for her humility, she reiterated her commitment to staying true to herself amid rising fame.
“Ayoko mabago ako ng showbiz. Kung ano ako talaga,” she said. “Genuine happiness lang po ang birthday wish ko. Kasi kapag may genuine happiness ka sa heart mo, mas madaling bumangon araw-araw at mas madali kang magbigay ng pagmamahal sa mga tao sa paligid mo.”
Some fans recently criticized her management, Viva Artists Agency (VAA), for her perceived lack of styling during promotions. Ashtine urged fans to be kinder and more understanding.
“Let’s all be careful with our words. Bawat tao may pinagdadaanan,” she said. “Sana iparamdam natin sa iba na kapag na-encounter nila tayo, mabait tayo.”
She also clarified her strong appreciation for VAA and Boss Vic del Rosario, saying he trusted her with Jay-jay, the lead role that catapulted her career in Ang Mutya ng Section E.
“Hindi ako mapupunta dito kung hindi nagtiwala sa akin si Boss Vic. Sa girl group before, gilid-gilid lang ako talaga. Kaya sobrang thankful ako,” she added.
Ashtine confirmed that ‘Ang Mutya ng Section E’, Viva One’s biggest hit, is officially getting a Season 2, with the same cast led by her, Andres Muhlach, and Rabin Angeles.
When asked if she’s ready to take on projects as a solo artist without a loveteam, she responded: “Mas gusto ko si Boss Vic ‘yung nagde-decide para sa akin. Alam ko mas alam niya ito.”
Instead of treating herself to something extravagant for her birthday, Ashtine said she’s focused on saving for more important goals, like owning a home in Manila where her family can stay comfortably.
“Mas pinipili ko pong mag-ipon muna… Mas iniisip ko talaga ngayon to spend my money wisely.”
Her fragrance, Ash, is a vanilla-scented, gender-neutral perfume, personally developed with Viva Beauty. It’s now available online through Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok Shop.
“It’s one of my favorite scents and a big blessing,” she said.
As her career continues to rise, Ashtine is choosing inner peace, genuine happiness, and gratitude as her guiding light—proof that even rising stars can stay grounded.
