Despite falling short in his bid for the vice governorship of Batangas, Luis Manzano received unwavering support from his wife, Jessy Mendiola, who took to Instagram to express her pride and love.

In her Instagram Story posted Tuesday, May 13, Jessy shared a faith-inspired quote that read: “I am nothing but a speck of dust in this vast universe the Lord has created. And, though my troubles may feel as enormous as the universe itself, I remember God is much bigger than all of it.”

Alongside the post, she wrote: “Still so proud of you, [Luis Manzano]. I love you ”

Luis, who saw the story and reposted it, replied sweetly: “Love you ”

Earlier, Jessy also posted a carousel with another quote of comfort and hope: “One of the greatest gifts is knowing that God’s plans are always more beautiful than your disappointments. HE will sustain you during your hardest battles and save you from harm’s way because only HE knows what is meant for you.”

Luis ranked second in the Batangas vice gubernatorial race with 552,044 votes, based on partial and unofficial results from the Commission on Elections as of May 13, 12:46 p.m. The proclaimed winner was Dodo Mandanas, who garnered 804,225 votes.

Meanwhile, Luis’ mother, Vilma Santos-Recto, is leading the race for Batangas governor with 640,073 votes.
