In celebration of GMA Network’s 75 shining years of entertainment and broadcasting excellence, its Afternoon Prime block is turning up the heat, promising bigger stories, bolder characters, and back-to-back drama to keep viewers glued to their screens.
GMA Afternoon Prime presents stories straight from the heart—tales of friendships tested by time, yet reunited by fate; families torn apart, but rebuilt through love; and the accused, standing strong in the fight for justice. These are the stories of every Filipino.
Leading the new roster of shows is “My Father’s Wife,” premiering this June 23, headlined by Gabby Concepcion as Robert and Kylie Padilla as Gina, alongside Jak Roberto as Gerald, Kazel Kinouchi as Betsy.
Gina is a loyal friend who helps her childhood best friend, Betsy, chase the American dream, only to fall for the same man, Gerald. Convinced that Gina always takes what she wants, Betsy plots revenge by manipulating Robert, Gina’s father. When love and envy collide, betrayal spirals into vengeance—and a daughter pays the ultimate price.
Adding depth and intrigue to the series are Maureen Larrazabal, Sue Prado, Arlene Muhlach, Andre Paras, and Ms. Snooky Serna in a special participation. Witness how envy destroys relationships in this gripping drama directed by Aya Topacio. “My Father’s Wife” airs from Mondays to Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. on GMA.
Next on the list of compelling offerings is “Akusada,” airing June 30 and marking the much-awaited comeback of Andrea Torres as Carol. Joining her are Benjamin Alves as Wilfred and Lianne Valentin as Roni.
Carol finds herself entangled in a web of lies when a woman dies under her watch. Desperate to protect her family, she assumes a new identity to escape the consequences. She starts a new life with Wilfred, but her seemingly perfect world unravels. How long can Carol keep running from her secrets—and her past?
The cast also features Ahron Villena, Arnold Reyes, Marco Masa, Ashley Sarmiento, with special appearances of Tonton Gutierrez, Sandy Andolong, and Max Collins. Don’t miss the bold and suspenseful story of “Akusada,” directed by Dominic Zapata, airing weekdays at 4:00 p.m.
Completing the powerhouse Afternoon Prime slate is “Cruz vs. Cruz,” top-billed by Vina Morales as Felma, Neil Ryan Sese as Manuel, and Gladys Reyes as Hazel. Also starring are Kristoffer Martin as Jeff, Lexi Gonzales as Andrea.
Despite financial struggles, Felma and Manuel remain devoted to raising their children with love and care. Can a family torn by betrayal find the strength to forgive the man who shattered their trust?
