‘Lolong: Pangil ng Maynila’ roared to a strong finish as its season finale, which aired last Friday, June 13, secured a solid 10.2% rating, according to data released by GMA Public Affairs.
The season opened just as powerfully, earning 10.8% on its January 20 premiere.

Unlike the first season which ran for 65 episodes, this second installment surpassed the 100-episode mark, offering nonstop action and gripping drama that kept fans hooked until the very end.
The final episodes saw Lolong (Ruru Madrid) facing off once again with his arch-nemesis Ivan (Martin del Rosario) in a climactic showdown where only one could survive. Meanwhile, Dona (Jean Garcia) abducted Elsie’s (Shaira Diaz) baby, sparking a tense rescue mission. Aya (Rabiya Mateo) was finally tracked down by Emilio (Dindo Arroyo), while chaos continued to erupt at the karinderya of Lola Grasya (Tessie Tomas) and Tetet (Elle Villanueva), thanks to Ester (Vaness del Moral).
Ruru Madrid, hailed as GMA Network’s Primetime Action Hero, expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to reprise his role.
“I’m beyond grateful na muling bigyang-buhay ang karakter ni Lolong. Isang bihirang pagkakataon na maipagpatuloy ang kwento ng isang karakter na sobra kong minahal,” he said. “To revisit his story, wear his skin again, and fight his battles—what a blessing.”
He also extended heartfelt thanks to GMA Network, GMA Public Affairs, and Sparkle for their trust and continued support.
“Sobrang laking bagay nito para sa akin. Hindi ko ito kailanman kakalimutan,” he added.
As the season closes, Ruru left fans with a meaningful reminder: “Hindi dito nagtatapos ang Lolong—dahil ang tunay na bayani, hindi kailanman nawawala.”
Rumors are now swirling that Season 3 is already in the works, hinting at another thrilling chapter in the journey of Lolong.
