Viva Artists Agency (VAA) has issued a stern warning to those spreading malicious and false information online against their artist, Ashtine Olviga, vowing to take legal action under the country’s cybercrime laws.

The agency’s statement comes in the wake of circulating fake news on social media targeting Ashtine, who currently stars as the lead in the hit series ‘Mutya ng Section E’ alongside Andres Muhlach. The series first aired on Viva One and is now gaining momentum on TV5.
In an official post shared via VAA’s Instagram account, the management emphasized the seriousness of online defamation.
“Online libel is a serious crime and punishable by law. We as the management of Ashtine will take the necessary legal action for any statements, narratives, or allegations that might tarnish her reputation,” the statement read.
“We do not condone these acts, especially without any evidence. We will hold those accountable liable to the maximum extent possible under the law.”
Fans of Ashtine rallied behind the agency’s move, thanking VAA for its strong stand to “Protect Ashtine at all cost.”
In a recent interview, Ashtine reminded the public to be more mindful of what they post online, emphasizing compassion and sensitivity.
“Let’s all be careful with our words kasi bawat tao, may kanya-kanyang pinagdadaanan, so hindi naman siguro ganoon kahirap yun para mas hindi natin iparamdam sa tao,” she said.
“Parang ipaparamdam natin sa bawat isa na kapag na-encounter nila tayo, ‘O, na-encounter natin ito, mabait siya.’ So, parang love nila. So, parang mapapagaan natin ang pakiramdam ng bawat isa,” she added.
