Kapamilya actress Criza Taa is setting the record straight about accusations that she’s a “social climber” and a “fake friend”—labels that have followed her online since her ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ days.

In her interview on the July 20 episode of ‘Toni Talks’, Criza opened up about the emotional toll these assumptions took on her, especially when they felt far from the truth.
“Actually, dati sobrang affected pa ako kasi nakakainis, e,” she admitted. “Pagka kilala mo ‘yong sarili mong hindi ka gano’n tapos pine-frame ka as gano’n ka. Ta’s sasabihin nila sa ‘yo ‘yon na parang kilalang-kilala ka na nila.”
The 21-year-old actress added that the hardest part was being misunderstood by people who don’t really know her. “Parang ang hirap for me. Pero no’ng na-realize ko na hindi naman nila ako kilala, e. And natutunan ko na paano i-separate ‘yong normal life and personal life ko sa social media.”
Earlier this year, Criza found herself at the center of online speculation after a video clip circulated showing ‘PBB: Celebrity Collab Edition’ housemates AC Bonifacio and Michael Sager allegedly talking about someone who frequently flaunted luxury items. Many netizens assumed they were referring to Criza, especially after she posted a cryptic message shortly after the clip trended.
Despite the whispers, Criza has kept her focus on her rising career. From being raised by her beloved grandmother Mama Wilma to becoming a breadwinner at just 14, her story has always been about grit and grace.
After joining ‘Camp Star Hunt’ and officially entering the ‘PBB’ house, Criza transitioned into acting—landing a breakout role as Roxy in ‘Kadenang Ginto’ and gaining Gen Z stardom in ‘He’s Into Her’ and ‘Zoomers’. Most recently, she earned praise for her heartbreaking performance as Gwynn Maguad in the viral ‘MMK’ episode based on the real-life Maguad family tragedy.

Now in her “leading lady era,” Criza is choosing peace over pettiness.
“Hindi nila ako kilala,” she said firmly—proof that she’s standing tall, chin up, and eyes firmly set on the bigger picture.
