As ‘Incognito’ enters its final week on air, actress Kaila Estrada is feeling a mix of gratitude and sadness over the conclusion of her first-ever action series.
The show, which has aired for the past six months, gave the 29-year-old actress the opportunity to portray Max Alvaro, a cyber hacker and secret agent — a role she says has taught her valuable lessons both on and off screen.

“Ang dami kong natutunan kasi first time ko rin mag-action, same kami ni Maris. First time naming dalawa. And this has actually been my dream since I started in show business, to do something in the action genre. Kasi ang dami kong natututunan na skills di ba? I think, du’n pa lang, I already felt like I’ve grown so much, noong nagte-training pa lang kami. So that was even before actually shooting Incognito,” she shared during the ‘Incognito: Final Mission’ finale presscon held on June 25.
Kaila also reflected on the deeper themes of the show, especially the idea of duty and sacrifice. “Siguro I didn’t just learn that from my character. But I think I learned that from the whole show and our characters. I feel like it’s such a recurring theme in the show, especially when you watch the finale. About having a sense of duty, I think having a sense of duty is being able to sacrifice something for the greater good, for something greater than yourself. Our missions, may mga personal agendas din kami, lahat kami, we all come together, especially in the finale, for the greater good,” she said.
When asked what she learned from playing Max, Kaila shared a more personal insight: “Siguro what I learned from my character throughout Max’s journey is letting go. It’s really letting go. Because when you watch your journey, you see how much holding on to something is actually holding her back from moving forward and once she let go of that, another door opened. So when one door closes, another door opens. I think yun yung pinakanatutunan ko, and yun yung something na nadadala ko hanggang ngayon from Max’s character.”
As the show wraps up, Kaila admitted she hasn’t fully processed that ‘Incognito’ is ending. “Of course I’m really sad. I’m really sad that taping is over. It hasn’t sunk in yet. Parang feeling ko naka-break lang tayo eh, parang babalik pa tayo sa taping. Hindi pa talaga siya nagsi-sink in sa akin. But I guess once this is over, once the episodes are done, hindi na kami madalas magkikita kita kasi wala na kaming mga promos, siguro du’n ko mas mararamdaman. Pero siyempre napi-feel ko na ‘yung lungkot. Mami-miss ko yung bond ng buong cast. Not even just the cast but the whole production in general. Mami-miss ko yung taping namin. And mami-miss ko si Max. Sana may season two. Ha-hahaha!”
‘Incognito’ airs its final episodes this week, Monday to Friday at 8:45 PM on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, TFC, and Kapamilya Online Live. Advance episodes are also streaming on Netflix and iWantTFC.
