Vice Ganda and Regine Velasquez’s ‘Superdivas’ concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on August 8 made waves online after a politically charged comedy skit referencing the West Philippine Sea and former president Rodrigo Duterte’s International Criminal Court (ICC) detention.

The segment, a parody of the viral “Jet2holiday” meme, opened with Velasquez singing “Darling, hold my hand” as Vice—wearing a sparkly pink leotard and bright pink wig—danced across the stage while backup dancers held a banner reading “Jetski holiday.”
“Nothing beats a jet ski holiday, right now from Manila to the West Philippine Sea via jetski. Get unlimited water bombing from Chinese vessels and a free trip to The Hague by the ICC… Promo applies to DDS (diehard Duterte Squad) only. Pinklawans and BBMs are prohibited. Huwag niyo akong subukan, mga pu****i** niyo,” Vice quipped, referencing Duterte’s 2016 campaign promise to plant the Philippine flag in the Spratlys via jetski—a statement he later admitted was a “pure joke.”
The skit drew sharp criticism from Duterte supporters, but also vocal support from others, including a viral open letter posted by netizen Tim Timoteo.
“Thank you for making millions laugh when times are hard… for raising millions of pesos when typhoons hit… Mas marami kang nagawang tulong sa mga Pilipino kesa sa ibang politikong lustay at kupitero,” the letter read, citing Vice’s fundraising during the COVID-19 pandemic, her scholarship program, and charity work through initiatives like FUNDkabogable and Angat Buhay Foundation.
Timoteo also called out what he described as a double standard: “Kung kaya ng mga DDS palampasin ang kabastusan, ang blasphemy, at rape jokes ng isang presidente, pero badtrip sa jetski at ICC joke ng isang baklang naka-wig, anong tawag dun? Mga ipokrito.”
Duterte is currently in ICC custody over alleged crimes against humanity related to his administration’s drug war.
