Viva Communications, Inc. has signed a landmark three-year first-look development and production deal with WEBTOON Productions to adapt more Wattpad stories for streaming on Viva One, further cementing the platform’s reputation as the home for Filipino digital fiction adaptations.

The agreement gives Viva One—currently with over four million subscribers across 90 countries—exclusive access to upcoming screen adaptations of fan-favorite Wattpad titles. It builds on the companies’ existing partnership, which has already produced popular hits for both cinema and streaming.
Recent successes include ‘Ang Mutya ng Section E’, which gained traction with global audiences, as well as titles such as ‘Diary ng Panget’, ‘Talk Back and You’re Dead’, ‘Ex With Benefits’, ‘This Time’, ‘Your Place or Mine?’, and ‘Girlfriend for Hire’. On streaming, Viva One has adapted the University Series: ‘The Rain in España’, ‘Safe Skies, Archer’, ‘Chasing in the Wild’, ‘Avenues of the Diamond’, and ‘Seducing Drake Palma’.
“This collaboration opens the door to bringing more bestselling and beloved Filipino Wattpad stories to the screen—for fans in the Philippines and wherever Viva One is available,” said Ryan Benitez, development executive for Asia-Pacific and creator manager for WEBTOON Productions.
Viva Communications chairman and CEO Vic del Rosario Jr. said the partnership underscores the company’s mission to champion Filipino storytelling for a global audience.
“By working with WEBTOON Productions, we are tapping into stories that deeply resonate with Filipino readers and viewers, both locally and globally,” he said.
The deal was brokered by Valerie Del Rosario, president and COO of Studio Viva, and Daryl Kho, who heads business development in Southeast Asia for WEBTOON Productions.
WEBTOON Productions, part of WEBTOON Entertainment, Inc., is known for developing hit TV shows, films, and books based on fan-driven IP from Webtoon and Wattpad. The studio has collaborated with major global players including Netflix, Sony Pictures Television, and Penguin Random House.
