Kapamilya star and ‘It’s Showtime’ host Anne Curtis opened up about her journey in showbiz, admitting she made mistakes along the way but said staying authentic has allowed her to last nearly three decades in the industry.

In a repost of her PeopleAsia interview on X (formerly Twitter), Anne reflected on her 28-year career.
“HAHAHA! I honestly think that’s why I’ve lasted this long in the industry. 28 years!!! I’ve never had a squeaky clean image. I’ve had my fair share of mistakes. Owned up to them publicly and learned from them. Stayed true to my core. Thanks for standing by me everyone,” she wrote.
During the interview, Anne was asked what advice she could give to aspiring actors and what she considered the “big no-no” in showbiz.
“If this is something that you’re very passionate about and you feel strongly for, I would have to say that you should continue to dream big, hold on to those dreams but have the patience to work hard for them,” she shared.
“This isn’t something that’s going to be served to you on a silver platter. You might reach that point where you feel defeated, but that doesn’t mean you have to give up on it. You might look for other things to work on but keep hold of that dream. Dream big because I believe it can happen if you work hard,” she added.
Asked about the biggest mistake aspiring artists should avoid, Anne was direct: “Lacking authenticity.”
Anne first appeared in GMA Network shows ‘Ikaw Na Sana’ and ‘T.G.I.S.’, before moving to ABS-CBN in 2004, where she rose to fame in ‘Kampanerang Kuba’ (2005). She went on to headline projects like ‘Dyosa’, ‘Dyesebel’, and the box-office hit ‘No Other Woman’.
Apart from acting and hosting, Anne has held sold-out concerts and has been serving as UNICEF Philippines’ National Goodwill Ambassador since 2015.
Currently, she stars opposite Joshua Garcia in the Philippine adaptation of ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’, streaming on Netflix and airing across ABS-CBN platforms.
