TV host Bianca Gonzalez minced no words as she reacted to the flood control scandal linking several lawmakers and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials to alleged kickbacks.

On X (formerly Twitter), Gonzalez asked what accountability citizens can expect when public servants, entrusted to lead, are the ones accused of stealing from the nation’s coffers.
“If those elected into positions of power to lead are also the ones abusing their power and stealing taxpayers’ money, what options do we citizens have to hold them accountable and make them pay the price?” she wrote.
In another post, she compared the harsh penalties imposed on small offenders to the seeming impunity of powerful politicians:
“Kung ang nagnakaw ng de latang walang isang daang piso para sa gutom na pamilya ay nahuli at nakulong, anong parusa ang naghihintay at maaasahan nating mga mamamayan sa mga opisyal na bilyones ang kinurakot sa kaban ng bayan?”
Her remarks came after contractor Curlee Discaya, during the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s September 8 hearing, revealed that some DPWH officials and congressmen allegedly demanded cuts ranging from 10% to 25% of project funds in exchange for smooth implementation.
While she continues to use her platform to call out corruption, Gonzalez also maintains a strong presence as a TV and digital host. She is set to headline the upcoming second season of ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’ later this year, alongside her work on ‘The B Side’, ‘BRGY’, and her hit podcast Paano Ba ‘To, which recently topped Spotify Philippines’ chart.
