After seven years in the music industry, singer-songwriter Janine Berdin is finally releasing her much-anticipated debut album ‘Lab Songs Ng Mga Tanga’, dropping on September 26, 2025.

The record dives deep into unfiltered stories of love, heartbreak, and healing — the messy and beautiful experiences of being, as Janine herself describes, “stupidly in love.”
“Growing up po, music has always been my best friend. So, when I had no one to talk to about my emotions, there was always a song for whatever I was going through, and I felt less alone,” Janine shared at a press conference.
“Kasi, minsan napapatanong ako kung bakit ako lang yung nakakaramdam ng ganito. But eventually, I found a song, I found music that made me feel less alone. That’s what I want to do with my first record album… Ako yung magiging best friend ninyo sa album na ’to. We’re all stupid when it comes to love, and it’s fine and we should talk about it. We should have fun with it. That’s what music is all about. That’s Lab Songs Ng Mga Tanga. I hope people resonate with it,” she added.
Ahead of the launch, Janine introduced the single ‘Hayup Ka,’ a fearless track about gaslighting, manipulation, and finding the strength to walk away from toxic love. With its unapologetic lyrics and her emotive vocals, the song sets the tone for the album’s honesty.
On her creative process, Janine admitted: “I really write quickly because it’s just like words in my head when I’m feeling the thing, it’s like word vomit. The hardest part was bringing it to life and making sure the music that comes with the message fits perfectly.”
Staying candid, she even revealed: “I wrote a lot of songs from this record while I’m in the toilet. That’s just TMI — but it’s true,” she laughed.
More than anything, Janine is grateful to the fans who have supported her journey: “I would really like to thank you na sinasakyan n’yo lahat ng trip ko. This is my first album after being in the industry for seven years. This album is yours. My music is yours. It’s ours.”
Recognized under Spotify’s EQUAL Philippines program, which highlights women artists shaping the future of music, Janine continues to establish herself as one of OPM’s most fearless and distinctive voices.
‘Lab Songs Ng Mga Tanga’ will be available on all major streaming platforms starting September 26, 2025.
