Netizens were abuzz on Friday, Sept. 26, after Vice Ganda made pointed remarks during ‘It’s Showtime’ that many interpreted as a jab at people who pretend to support him but allegedly bash him behind his back.

During the noontime show’s segment ‘Laro Laro Pick’, a contestant identified as Joteng introduced herself as an avid fan of the comedian-host. Moments later, she asked if she could give greetings to viewers.
Vice quickly responded, turning to the camera: “O, ‘yon lang naman pala. Ginagamit-gamit n’yo lang ako. Uutuin n’yo ako na kunwari idol n’yo ako, tuwang-tuwa kayo sa akin, pero babati lang naman kayo.”
He added, “Kunwari lang idol n’yo ako pero bina-bash n’yo rin naman ako ‘pag may mga eksena ako sa Facebook.”
When co-host Vhong Navarro followed up by asking Joteng what her favorite Vice Ganda song was, the contestant admitted she couldn’t recall. Vice doubled down with another playful jab: “O ‘di ba, pinagloloko mo lang ako. Mga echosera kayo dito. Kunwari close-close tayo pero may mga post naman kayong chaka tungkol sa akin.”
The moment drew laughter inside the studio but became a trending topic online after clips circulated on X (formerly Twitter). Some viewers praised Vice’s candor, while others speculated that his remarks may have been directed at specific personalities.
One netizen wrote: “Kwinshit talaga tong si Vice hahahha walang sinasanto, sikat ka man or starlet HAHAHAHHA.” Another quipped, “Mukhang magpaplastikan na lang kayo sa set ng Call Me Mother.”
The episode also reignited online discussions involving Kapuso star Shuvee Etrata, after netizens resurfaced her old comments about Vice Ganda, including a viral ‘Totropahin o Jojowain’ video where she reacted with an “eww” when his name was mentioned.
Vice, however, has yet to clarify whether his remarks were simply for comic effect or directed at anyone in particular.
