Gabbi Garcia responds to claims of “favoritism” and lack of exposure in ‘Sang’gre’

Kapuso star Gabbi Garcia has finally addressed online comments claiming she was being “sidelined” or “underpromoted” in GMA Network’s hit fantasy series ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre’.

The actress, who plays Sang’gre Alena, took to X (formerly Twitter) to respond to persistent posts suggesting she wasn’t getting enough screen time or recognition compared to her co-stars.

Her  post read: “Hello. I’ve been seeing some of your past and present comments about me since people have been tagging me. I don’t understand where the ‘shade’ is coming from.

“I’ve been quiet about Enca and have been focusing on all my work outside of it. Ate Aubrey Carampel insisted that I’ll give comment even though I refused and had already told her it wasn’t really my scene.

“I know I don’t owe anyone explanation but it seems like you have a certain issue with me that I can’t quite figure out.”

The post came after an X user wrote: “Tina-try paingayin si Gabbi Garcia or should I say promote, e may PBB na siya. Charsss. Halos di siya na-mention sa episode kahapon w/ X at FB despite Danaya having same scene with her.”

The tweet implied that Gabbi’s appearances were being downplayed in Sang’gre’s online promotions—a comment that appeared to have triggered the actress’s rare public reaction.

While Gabbi has mostly stayed silent about the issue, fans have continued to defend her online, emphasizing her professionalism and dedication despite juggling multiple projects.

Aside from her role as Alena in ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre’, Gabbi recently made her return to hosting as part of the new ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0’ lineup, joining Bianca Gonzalez, Robi Domingo, Kim Chiu, Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, Enchong Dee, Alexa Ilacad, and Mavy Legaspi.

She also made waves internationally after attending Paris Fashion Week 2025 with her boyfriend Khalil Ramos, where the couple turned heads for their effortless sophistication and creative partnership.

In an interview with Aubrey Carampel, Gabbi shared that they produced all her fashion week content themselves — from pre-production to editing — with Khalil handling her photos and videos.

“Khalil took all of my content, video, photo, lahat. Nag pre-prod kami dito sa Manila para pagdating namin doon, smooth sailing na lahat. I did my own hair and makeup, too,” Gabbi revealed.

Despite the noise on social media, Gabbi continues to maintain her composure, focusing on her craft and her growing list of international projects and endorsements.

With ‘Sang’gre’ continuing to dominate GMA Prime and her ‘PBB’ hosting duties expanding her reach, Gabbi remains one of the busiest—and most visible—stars of her generation.

As one fan wrote in defense of her on X: “Gabbi doesn’t need to be the loudest to shine. Her talent speaks for itself.”
