Real-life couple Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte shared their secret on May 4 so they would not follow the recent showbiz breakups.
During the launch of the newest brand of insulated flask Iceberg at the newly unveiled Happy Go Shopping Mall, to which they were endorsers, Alonte reiterated his advice when it comes to love: mutual respect. However, he had another tip to be a strong-willed couple: plan a future.
“Sikreto sa isang relasyon kung bakit siya nagtatagal, sa totoo lang, ilang beses ko na siyang sinasabi, respeto sa desisyon niyo sa isa’t-isa. Pero bukod doon, tutal ‘yon naman ang lagi kong sagot ko, namin, siguro ‘yung plano niyo sa buhay.
“Ano ‘yung future niyo. Kasi once na pinag-uusapan niyo ang future niyo, doon mo makikitang seryoso ang partner mo. Hindi ‘yung sa ngayon lang. Dapat may plano kayo sa negosyo, sa future niyo, sa bahay, sa kasal. Kasi nga kung hindi niyo pinag-uusapan ‘yung mga bagay na para sa future niyo, wala. Siguro maghihiwalay din kayo,” he said.
Andalio chimed in that another element of a lasting relationship is showing support and allowing each other to grow.
“Dapat naggu-grow kayo together. Sinusuportahan niyo ang isa’t-isa. Sa pangarap niya, hayaan mo siyang lumipad din at ikaw din. Huwag niyong ikukulong ang isa’t-isa. So partner talaga dapat.”
When will they get married?
Having spent seven years together, Andalio and Alonte have been intrigued by the press about their plans for the future. The Kapamilya leading lady confirmed they have plans to settle down soon.
She said they are currently focusing on their careers and their new business. Once stable, they will be tying the knot.
“Pinag-uusapan naman siyempre. Pero andoon pa kami sa andito pa ‘yung negosyo, nagtatrabaho pa kami, p’wede pa, marami pa tayong responsibilidad sa mga family natin, na sa sarili namin marami pa kaming gustong gawin. Pero madali na lang kayo lalo na kung sobrang stable niyo, so bakit hindi?”
