Regal Entertainment, Inc. has firmly denied viral rumors claiming that actress Ivana Alawi was “unprofessional” and allegedly caused production delays during the filming of ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins’, its official entry to the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Over the weekend, social media posts — particularly on Reddit — alleged that production on the film was delayed due to Ivana’s supposed behavior, with some claiming that even her co-stars and crew were frustrated. One post even went as far as to allege that the project’s “producer” was Ivana’s “billionaire boyfriend,” implying favoritism on set.
The post read: “Staff, co-actors, even the director are getting frustrated kasi she’s always the reason for the delays… What’s making it worse is that she doesn’t seem worried at all — like she knows she won’t get in trouble.”
However, Regal Entertainment immediately released an official statement refuting all the circulating claims, emphasizing that the film wrapped up on time and that Ivana conducted herself with professionalism throughout the entire shoot.
“Regal Entertainment, Inc. clarifies that recent online posts about the production of Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins and false claims involving Ms. Ivana Alawi are entirely untrue,” the company said.
“The film’s production proceeded smoothly and wrapped on schedule, with Ms. Alawi demonstrating utmost professionalism and dedication throughout.”
The statement also addressed the false rumor regarding an outside financier allegedly backing the project, clarifying that the film is a 100% Regal Entertainment production — developed, produced, and financed solely by the company.
“Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins is a 100% Regal Entertainment, Inc. project — developed, produced, and financed solely by the company,” it continued.
“We urge the public to avoid engaging with unverified information and to rely only on Regal Entertainment’s official pages for accurate updates.”
Ivana stars in one of the anthology film’s segments alongside Richard Gutierrez and Dustin Yu, portraying Edris, a woman investigating a masquerade ball massacre linked to her family’s dark past.
Despite the online noise, Regal’s clarification has since put an end to the speculation, reaffirming Ivana’s strong reputation as one of the industry’s most hardworking and bankable stars.
‘Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins’ marks the return of the country’s longest-running horror franchise and is set to premiere nationwide during the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival this December.
