At just 22, Andrea Brillantes has already lived most of her life in front of cameras — growing up under the spotlight, weathering comparisons, and learning how to navigate fame’s harshest sides.
But now, the actress is making one thing clear: she’s done being judged for anything beyond her craft.

Speaking candidly in a recent interview with Cosmo, Andrea shared how she’s learned to build confidence in herself after years of being scrutinized both on and off screen.
“Dapat secure ka na talaga sa sarili mo. Hindi maiiwasan yung insecurities, kasi lumaki ako sa industry na lahat kami pinagko-compare. Competition talaga eh. Para siyang Hunger Games nga eh,” she said.
The actress, who recently signed with MQuest Ventures and officially became a Kapatid artist, acknowledged that criticism and comparisons are part of the business — but she believes people should know where to draw the line.
“Panoorin niyo ako, i-judge niyo acting ko. Yun yung i-judge niyo. Hindi yung personal life ko, hindi yung love life ko, hindi yung sex life ko, or whatever. Kapag gusto ko siyang i-share, dun kayo magsabi ng kung anu-ano,” she asserted.
Andrea, who rose to fame through ‘Kadenang Ginto’ and has since starred in various TV and digital projects, said she’s learned to focus her energy on what truly matters — her work, her growth, and her peace.
“I’m securing myself. I’m happy where I am now,” she said, adding that she’s proud to finally live independently after years of supporting her family.
A lesson she now carries, she said, is knowing when to step back from the noise — especially on social media.
“Don’t touch your phone! Don’t do anything online. Don’t post. Celebrity ka man o hindi. Kasi dati naman walang phone o social media. What do people do? They talk. They sit with themselves,” Andrea advised.

Having entered showbiz as a child, Andrea admits she’s made mistakes and faced tough lessons in public. But through it all, she’s learned to embrace both her flaws and her strength.
