OneCor Productions is excited to announce the development of Just Us, a one-hour family dramedy. The series draws inspiration from the true story of the Hughes family, the 2024 winners of Family Feud.
Just Us centers on Jace Hughes, a widowed TV sports producer, as he navigates raising his five daughters in the suburbs following the sudden death of his wife. The series offers a modern perspective on a modern family, exploring themes of love and loss through humor, heart, and faith. It skillfully blends comedy with deep emotional truth as the family learns to rebuild and each daughter discovers her own identity.
Creator and showrunner Junius R. Hughes, Jr. states, “Just Us is not a story about perfection, it’s a story about staying. It’s about showing up imperfectly with faith and honesty, for the people who need us the most.”
A Quinnipiac University Alum and Ivy League educated, Hughes holds multiple degrees and is a seasoned television professional who was a pioneering voice in early sports broadcasting, helping major networks such as WFAN, CBS, ABC, and ESPN break ground in the industry. “I have spent my whole life telling other people’s stories,” says Hughes, “it’s time I finally told my own.”
The series is set in New Haven County, Connecticut. Pre-production is scheduled to begin in the new year, with principal photography anticipated for Q3 2026.
