TV5 is aggressively strengthening its programming slate as it prepares to roll out several new original series in 2026, signaling a major push following the end of its content partnership with ABS-CBN.

The Kapatid network unveiled its upcoming shows during the TV5 ‘Kapatid Vibe Thanksgiving Trade Event’ held on November 25 at the Meralco Theater in Pasig City, an industry gathering where advertisers were given a preview of the network’s future offerings.
Leading the new lineup is ‘A Secret in Prague,’ which marks the first-ever team-up of Andrea Brillantes and Enrique Gil. The drama follows Michael (Gil), a man searching for a better life who ends up in Prague, Czech Republic, where he reunites with Kiara (Brillantes). What begins as an emotional reunion takes a dark turn when the two unexpectedly point guns at each other, ending with Kiara being shot. Brillantes and Gil personally attended the event to invite viewers to watch the series, which is slated to premiere in 2026.
Also confirmed is the continuation of the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 entry ‘The Kingdom,’ which will be expanded into a television series. The show will be led by Cristine Reyes and Ryza Cenon, continuing the story introduced in the film that starred Vic Sotto and Piolo Pascual.
TV5 is also bringing back ‘Artista Academy,’ the reality talent competition last aired in 2012. This time, Julia Barretto will serve as host. Auditions are scheduled for December 6, 13, and 21 at Robinsons Laguna, Gaisano Grand City Gatemall, and New Frontier Theater, respectively.
Another highly anticipated project is the Philippine adaptation of the Korean hit ‘The Good Doctor,’ with Iñigo Pascual taking on the lead role. Joining him are Mylene Dizon, Tony Labrusca, Ryan Agoncillo, and Gabby Padilla. The series is also set to premiere in 2026.
Completing the slate of new dramas is ‘My Bestfriend Emman,’ starring JM de Guzman and Shaina Magdayao as a married couple attempting to rebuild their lives after the husband’s release from prison. The story takes a darker turn when the husband abandons his family, and the wife later becomes involved with a mysterious new man played by Sid Lucero. Aiai delas Alas is also part of the cast.
Meanwhile, TV5 is expanding its youth-oriented and fantasy offerings with ‘Project Loki,’ starring Dylan Menor, Jayda Avanzado, and Marco Gallo, and “Magic Boys,” which will feature Menor alongside João Constância.
On the reality and competition front, the network is also set to launch ‘Isayaw Mo,’ a new dance competition, alongside its scripted shows.
TV5 President and CEO Guido Zaballero assured advertisers and viewers that more formats and star-driven projects are in development, promising surprises throughout 2026.
With the conclusion of its content agreement with ABS-CBN, TV5 appears poised to rely heavily on original programming as it works to retain and grow its audience, positioning itself for a more competitive year ahead in Philippine television.
