The Buenas PH Influencer Partnership Launch and Media Briefing, held on January 18 at the Grand Ballroom of City of Dreams Manila, unfolded as more than a corporate event. It felt closer to a gaming convention, where creators, streamers, and media gathered not just to listen but to connect, compete, and celebrate a shared digital culture.

Even before the program began, the atmosphere was lively and familiar. Streamers were seen exchanging stories, laughing over shared experiences, and reconnecting with peers they had previously known only online. The setting carried the same energy found in gaming tournaments—anticipation, excitement, and a strong sense of community.

The event officially started around 4:30 PM with a red carpet segment, where influencers were welcomed by Buenas PH executives Atty. Anthony “Tony” Manguiat, Julius “Banoobs” Mariano, Jerv Mark Macam, and Ms. Ellen Joy Almanza. Their interaction symbolized a meeting between corporate leadership and creator culture, two sectors increasingly shaping today’s online environment.

During the media briefing, discussions focused on regulation, responsibility, and long-term vision. Atty. Manguiat highlighted the importance of regulation as a form of protection rather than control, emphasizing that clear rules are essential for maintaining trust and fairness in digital communities.

Mariano addressed the influence held by streamers and content creators, noting that online personalities often shape behavior, language, and even spending habits. His remarks reflected the growing awareness of the responsibility that comes with digital influence.

Macam spoke about the importance of structure, leadership, and credibility, pointing out that many online communities fail not because of lack of talent, but due to weak management and unclear direction. Almanza’s steady presence throughout the program reinforced Buenas PH’s careful and intentional approach to building creator partnerships.

One of the most impactful moments came from Boss Toyo, who shared his journey from addiction and rehabilitation to finding renewed purpose. His advocacy through Balik Buhay and Buenas Cares highlighted the human side of digital spaces, reminding attendees that online communities are built by real people facing real challenges.

As the program transitioned into the Battle of the Streamers: Clash of the Titans, the tone shifted from reflection to competition. Hosted by Alex Calleja and Arci Muñoz, the event featured four teams—Team Underdog, Team Clutch Masters, Team Buy Spinners, and Team Buenas—competing for a BYD Seal 5 and a PHP 11-million prize pool. Cheers and reactions filled the ballroom, transforming it into an arena reminiscent of major esports events.

The competition showcased not just skill and entertainment, but also the power of shared experience. The energy in the room reflected why gaming events continue to resonate—bringing people together through excitement, friendly rivalry, and collective moments.

By the end of the evening, around 9:00 PM, the event had left a lasting impression. (with reports from Rhen Narte)
