Fresh from completing work on the Hollywood thriller Ignition, actress Lovi Poe admitted she was starstruck while filming scenes with Maisie Williams, the actress best known for portraying Arya Stark in the globally acclaimed series ‘Game of Thrones’.
Poe spoke about the experience during her recent introduction as the newest artist under Star Magic, calling it one of the highlights of her growing international career.
Although she remained careful not to reveal details about the project, Lovi shared that working opposite Williams was both exciting and surreal.
“Maisie’s great, nakaka-starstruck, to be honest, running lines with her. But I can’t really say much about it yet because I’m not really sure what I’m allowed to divulge.”
The actress admitted she tried to remain composed during filming despite being a longtime admirer of the British star.
“The fact na when I was running lines with her, I was just pretending to act cool but deep inside I’m dying. Sabi ko, ‘Oh, my God!’ It’s great kasi siyempre, ‘Game of Thrones’ was flashing sa mind ko while I was running lines with her. So I had to relax and keep my cool.”
According to an earlier report by Variety, ‘Ignition’ follows Sylvie Johnson, played by Williams, a young woman who is unwittingly drawn into a dangerous terrorist plot. Directed by James Erskine, the thriller explores themes of paranoia, technology, and the courage to confront the truth. The film also stars BAFTA Award nominee Rory Kinnear.
Variety quoted Erskine as saying he wanted audiences to experience the story through Sylvie’s perspective, creating “a sense of immediacy and psychological pressure” while providing “the ideal platform for Maisie Williams’ extraordinary central performance.”
‘Ignition’ is the latest addition to Poe’s growing list of international projects. She previously appeared in the Hollywood independent film ‘Bad Man’ alongside Seann William Scott, ‘The Chelsea Cowboy’ with Alex Pettyfer and Poppy Delevingne, and another international production helmed by Garry Brown, known for his work on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Prison Break.
Lovi has also been cast in the upcoming horror film ‘My Sister’s Bones’, where she will share the screen with Olga Kurylenko, who recently appeared in Marvel Studios’ ‘Thunderbolts*’.
Meanwhile, the actress recently began another major chapter in her career after officially joining ABS-CBN’s Star Magic on July 21. During her launch, she received a warm welcome from executives and members of the entertainment media, with the talent management agency describing her as “a true superwoman who can do it all.”
Known not only as an actress but also as a recording artist, producer, entrepreneur, wife, and mother, Poe said joining Star Magic represents a fresh start as she continues to pursue opportunities both in the Philippines and abroad.
