Speculation has once again surfaced online suggesting that Chiz Escudero and his wife, fashion icon and actress Heart Evangelista, are allegedly going through marital issues.
Rumors intensified after netizens closely examined the couple’s recent social media activity. Some online chatter even claimed that Escudero’s Instagram account was no longer active and that the couple had unfollowed each other—claims that were later proven to be false.
According to speculation circulating online, Heart’s mother, Cecile Ongpauco, was allegedly involved in efforts to shield her daughter from issues surrounding the senator. However, no official statement has been released by the couple regarding these claims.
Observers noted that Heart’s recent Instagram posts frequently featured her mother. During the New Year’s Day celebration, Heart shared photos with family members but without Escudero appearing in the images.
“My favorite part of 2025 was finding my way back to this feeling,” Heart wrote in one post. “Grateful, at peace, and most importantly, happy,” she added.
On the other hand, Escudero marked the New Year with his own Instagram post dated January 1, 2026, sharing photos of his celebration with family. Some images showed Heart together with their children, Chesi and Quino, but there were no photos of the couple alone.

Amid the growing intrigue, fans were quick to debunk claims that the couple had unfollowed each other on social media. Supporters released screenshots showing that Heart and Escudero are still following one another, adding that the family welcomed 2026 together in good spirits.
Heart’s first post of 2026 also drew attention, especially following the bashing she endured last year. Instead of addressing negativity, she chose to focus on gratitude, peace, and happiness—an attitude many fans praised as a sign of resilience.
