TV host Willie Revillame has spoken openly about his past relationship with former SexBomb dancer Sugar Mercado, confirming that they were together for seven years.
Revillame addressed questions about his love life and clarified that nothing went wrong in their relationship. He said he became deeply attached to Sugar’s children, whom he treated as his own.
“Wala namang went wrong sa naging relationship ko kay Sugar kasi napamahal naman sa akin ‘yung mga anak ni Sugar. Parang naging anak ko na rin sila. Kasi hindi ko na kasama ‘yung mga anak ko, doon ako nabaling sa mga anak niya. So, nag-enjoy ako kasama ‘yung mga bata. Bino-blower ko yung mga anak niya, naging anak ko talaga sila,” said Revillame.
He admitted that being with Sugar’s children helped fill the emptiness he felt from being away from his own kids.
“’Yun bang nangulila ako sa mga anak parang ganun. Alam naman ng mga anak ko ‘yan. Hindi naman mga selosa ang mga anak ko, kasi nakita nila na naging masaya ako, eh. Naging fair naman ako sa kanilang lahat,” he added.
Revillame stressed that he does not deny the relationship and believes it would be unfair to Sugar if he did.
“Totoo naman, hindi ko naman maide-deny ang tama at ang totoo eh. Saka hindi ako magsisinungaling. Yes, naging maayos naman. Kaya lang its just like that siguro, hindi talaga kami para sa isa’t-isa,” he said.
Despite the breakup, Revillame acknowledged that Sugar and her children were among those who truly made him happy.
“Pero ‘yung talagang nagpasaya sa akin noon, ‘yan si Sugar din naman at ang mga anak niya. ‘Yun talaga ‘yun, kasi nga hindi ko na kasama yung mga anak ko naging happy ako na makasama ‘yung mga anak niya,” he shared.
He also emphasized that he never disowned their relationship.
“Okay lang ‘yun, saka hindi ko dine-deny ‘yung naging relasyon ko, kawawa naman ‘yung babae. Totoo naman ‘yun, hindi ako ganung klaseng tao,” he said.
Revillame said he is currently single and content with his life, adding that if he ever enters another relationship, he would prefer to keep it private.
Sugar previously confirmed the relationship in March 2025 during an interview with Ogie Diaz on YouTube.
When asked directly if she and Revillame were in a relationship, Sugar answered: “Oo.”
She admitted that she loved Revillame deeply and had no regrets. Sugar also shared that Revillame returned her affection and genuinely cared for her daughters. Sugar noted that she and Revillame have not spoken for a long time and said she is no longer looking for a new relationship, as she is already happy and fulfilled with her children.
