From Hospitality to Healthcare
While hospitals and hospitality may seem worlds apart, both share the same foundation of service. AppleOne is among the first in the Philippines to bring this rare convergence to life, applying the guest-centric approach of luxury hospitality to hospital operations.
This shift began in 2020 when AppleOne formed AMG to revitalize long-standing regional hospitals and transform them into future-ready medical institutions. By strengthening regional capabilities, families gain access to advanced care closer to home, minimizing disruption to work, schooling, and daily life.

VisayasMed Hospital, Cebu
Serving Cebu since 1952, VisayasMed addresses the region’s critical gap in advanced diagnostics and cancer care. The hospital partners with Singapore Diagnostics to operate a high-capacity laboratory serving up to 1,000 daily with tests previously only available in Manila. VMH also houses the Singapore Cancer Center Inc., the first ESMO-certified oncology facility in the Philippines offering precision diagnostics and personalized treatment.
United Shalom Hospital, Tacloban
This pre-WWII eco-conscious facility brings sustainable healthcare access to Eastern Visayas, where provincial communities have historically faced long journeys for basic medical services. With 100 beds and planned ICU and NICU units, United Shalom is filling a vital gap in maternal and critical care for underserved areas in Visayas.
Brokenshire Medical Center, Davao
Founded in 1917, Brokenshire is closing Mindanao’s gap in tertiary and specialized care. Its Heart Institute, Chemotherapy Center, Stroke Unit, and CANDEV (the first hospital-based multidisciplinary center for children with special needs) address the region’s cardiovascular and neurological needs.
Aside from being among the few advanced institutions in the country providing IVF services, Brokenshire is the first and only facility in Mindanao to offer Hybrid Endolap Surgery with Spyglass, laser lithotripsy, and Indocyanin green capability, and the first in Asia to install a Dräger Atlan ceiling-mounted anesthesia machine.

Access and Impact
AppleOne’s approach goes beyond infrastructure. By working with top-tier medical professionals and local stakeholders, AMG aims to strengthen healthcare systems across VisMin.
Long-term plans include the development of a hub-and-spoke healthcare model, featuring satellite outpatient centers and primary care facilities located within a 50-kilometer radius of its flagship hospitals. This strategy aims to improve access to quality healthcare, particularly for underserved communities. As of early 2026, AMG continues to scale this model to strengthen regional healthcare systems and improve long-term access across VisMin.
“This is just the beginning,” Manigsaca shares. “Our vision is not just to develop hospitals, but to cultivate a system where competent and compassionate healthcare is the standard, not the exception.”
