Filipina drag artist and beauty queen Marina Summers has publicly shared that she has begun her gender transition, opening up about a deeply personal journey she has long contemplated.

In an emotional statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Marina revealed that she started social transitioning in early 2025, followed by Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) later that same year. She described the decision as one she had carried with her for many years, saying she has always felt feminine, even from a young age.
“For so many years, I poured that energy into carving a life that required me to move at full speed,” Marina wrote.
“Becoming the person I’ve always seen myself as felt like something I’d get to ‘later’, something I gently pushed to the side while I tried to catch every other dream first.”
After years of questioning and delaying, Marina said she finally allowed herself to fully embrace her true identity.
“After years of questioning and pushing back, I finally made the beautiful decision to begin social transitioning early 2025,” she shared.
She also revealed that she later began HRT, describing it as a life-changing experience.
“One of the best things that has ever happened to me,” Marina said of her hormone therapy journey.
According to Marina, only her innermost circle—close friends and family—were initially aware of her transition, as she needed privacy and emotional space to process the changes.
“I chose to keep the first part of this journey with my innermost circle. It’s not as if I was hiding something from the world. I just really needed space to feel it, to heal, to simply exist in my own skin without the outside noise,” she explained. “I’m grateful I gave myself that.”
Now ready to share this new chapter more openly, Marina formally reintroduced herself to the public.
“To everyone who knew me as Yan or Adrian, it’s been amazing. But that chapter of my life is happily closed,” she wrote. “From hereon, I’d love for you all to get to know me more as the woman I’m becoming… Hello again my friends, it’s me, Marina.”
She ended her message by expressing gratitude for the love and respect she has received, while acknowledging that her journey is still ongoing.
“There’s still so much to learn. I don’t have everything figured out. But I do know I want to be more honest with you and myself,” Marina said. “Thank you for the love you’ve shown me so far. Thank you in advance for the kindness and respect you continue to offer. This chapter means the world to me, and I’m happy to finally share it with all of you.”

Marina rose to international prominence after competing in ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. the World’ in 2024, where she finished in third place and stood out as the only Asian contestant, proudly showcasing Filipino culture throughout the competition.
In May 2025, she made history once again by becoming the first Filipina drag queen to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, further cementing her status as a trailblazer in global drag and LGBTQ+ representation.
