Raymond Gutierrez has publicly defended his twin brother Richard Gutierrez following statements made by the latter’s estranged wife, Sarah Lahbati, regarding financial support for their two children.

Sarah was recently interviewed by Kylie Verzosa on the latter’s YouTube channel, where she opened up about her life as a single working mother to sons Zion and Kai.
During the interview, Sarah said: “They think my life is just this perfect little fairy tale? Hey I’m a single mom of two, I work very hard, I pay for my own bills (and) I also struggle.”
When asked whether she ever considered asking for help in providing for the children, she responded: “Great question. No!”
She elaborated: “I will be honest and say that I struggle asking for help. But in this specific scenario and question of yours, you asked if I wanted to ask for help? No, I don’t feel the need to. I can do it so I don’t see why I should or ask…period.”
On whether there was any discussion between her and Richard regarding financial support, Sarah said: “I don’t think there was even any discussion in terms of that stuff. But it’s my decision that I’m okay with not getting help.”
She added: “I’m never gonna beg. I’m never gonna ask. It should be an automatic thing, actually. That’s it. And if it’s not, then why am I going to beg or ask if I can do it myself?”

Raymond later reacted to a reposted clip of the interview circulating online. In the comments section, he firmly addressed what he described as misconceptions about his brother’s role as a father.
He wrote: “My brother provides for his kids. Period. School, hobbies, travel, clothing, staff and everything else they need. The kids split their time equally between both parents. I can’t sit here and watch this and not state facts. I wish this was clarified during this interview.”
Raymond’s statement quickly gained traction, with netizens debating both sides of the issue. Some praised Sarah for her independence and resilience, while others echoed Raymond’s clarification that Richard continues to support their children financially and remains actively involved in their lives.
As of writing, neither Sarah nor Richard has issued a new statement in response to Raymond’s comment.
The former couple, who have been separated, continue to co-parent Zion and Kai.
