Global Street Dance Icons Link Up with Manila’s Finest Ahead of Red Bull Dance Your Style National Finals

Manila’s street dance community is set to surge with energy as the Red Bull Dance Tour touches down in the Philippines on April 9. Global street dance icons MT Pop, The D-Soraki, Nonoy, and Chrissy Chou will transform the city into a vibrant melting pot for various freestyle cultures and the country’s own street dance legends.

From workshops and showcases to moments leading up to the main stage at Bridgetowne Concert Grounds for the Red Bull Dance Your Style National Finals, the tour will ignite a series of collaborations that are expected to bring together the world’s best and the energy of the local dance scene. It will create a powerful exchange between international experience and homegrown talent.

A Global Tour Meets Manila’s Dance Floor

Fresh from electrifying stops across Asia, the visiting freestyle dancers will arrive in Manila carrying the same energetic and powerful vibe that defines Red Bull Dance Your Style. More than just a performance stop on the tour, the Manila stop is poised to become a meeting ground where global icons will step directly into the rhythm of the local street dance community. They will join forces with some of the country’s dance icons, Nemesis, Klockwise, Lema Diaz, and Vince Mendoza.

Across multiple sessions and cyphers, international and Filipino dancers will trade movements, challenge one another in spontaneous freestyle exchanges, and share techniques shaped by years on the global battle circuit.

The exchange will also include an open invitation to the community. Global talents Nonoy, MT Pop, D-Soraki, and Chrissy Chou will join local dance challenges and lead free workshops, open to all street dancers seeking to improve their craft. Interested participants may stay tuned for Red Bull Philippines’ official announcement of details via their social media pages and website.

During these workshops, the visiting freestylers will also share insights and personal experiences that shaped their journeys from local cyphers to global recognition. They will break down musicality, freestyle strategy, and the subtle decisions that can transform a single moment on the dance floor into a winning round.

“I’m excited for these icons to experience the energy of the Filipino dance community. We are a warm and welcoming community, and I know our people are excited to connect with them through dance and movement. I’ve seen these icons perform live, and I can’t wait for our community to witness that same experience,” said Nemesis, Red Bull Dance Your Style Philippines 2025 National Champion.

The workshops will offer aspiring dancers and longtime fans alike a rare opportunity to learn directly from some of freestyle’s most celebrated performers, right in the heart of Manila’s thriving street dance culture.

While every dancer brings a unique perspective to their craft, Nemesis believes that learning from these experienced global dancers, who carry deep expertise and knowledge, will help push workshop participants to grow and raise their standards in dance. “It’s inspiring to learn not only their techniques, but also their work ethic, mindset, and foundations. After all, they are among the best in the world,” she said.

The Manila floor is set to become a proving ground for aspiring Filipino dancers. Workshop participants will learn to adapt instantly, switch styles, shift rhythms, and deliver movements that connect with the audience in real time.

“Street dance culture is a culture of sharing, connection, and inspiring one another. It’s a very positive thing when local dancers get the chance to meet, share, and connect with international dancers. One day, they can also go out of their country and travel around as ‘international dancers,’” shared MT Pop, Red Bull Dance Your Style 2024 World Champion.

He explained that being a dancer is more than just practicing technique. It’s also crucial to understand the way of life behind the dance—how people see and feel it, and how it is practiced in one’s local area as a part of their culture. “I will share my strengths and perspectives, and how I train and experience, hoping that these can help other dancers improve and grow in their own unique way of dancing,” the World Champion said, looking forward to the tour hitting Manila.

For the local community, the tour is expected to be both an inspiration and a challenge. It will be an opportunity to measure their creativity against the world’s best while pushing the culture forward together.

“Exchanges like these are exactly what we need; not just for exposure, but to build genuine relationships with dancers around the world,” expressed Nemesis. “The Philippines is home to so many skilled dancers, and this tour allows us to showcase that talent on an international stage. We’re truly grateful to Red Bull for making this possible.”

The Road to the National Finals

The momentum from the tour will lead directly to the Red Bull Dance Your Style Philippines National Finals, where the country’s top freestyle dancers will compete for the chance to represent the Philippines on the global stage at the World Finals in Zurich, Switzerland.

Unlike traditional dance competitions judged by a panel, Red Bull Dance Your Style places the power entirely in the audience’s hands. From hip-hop to house and locking to popping, dancers must win the crowd’s vote with pure musicality, freestyle skill, and undeniable stage presence.

“From what I know, dancers in the Philippines are raw, incredibly passionate, energetic, and full of dance spirit. I hope people won’t spend too much energy chasing votes or focusing on outside factors. Instead, I hope they will focus more on themselves—‘Dance your style,’” said MT Pop about the upcoming Red Bull Dance Your Style 2026 Philippines National Finals. “Sometimes, shining on stage doesn’t come only from practice. It also comes from confidence and from genuinely enjoying the time you have while you’re up there.”

Fueling the dancers and fans throughout the tour stop, Army Navy, Hertz, and Mophie will join the event as partners, keeping the energy high as the community gathers for the Finals.
