Reinforcing its commitment to making quality healthcare more accessible to Filipinos, Maxicare Group joined forces with Robinsons Land Foundation (RLove), the corporate social responsibility arm of Robinsons Land Corporation, to implement a Medical Mission at Manggahan Elementary School, Pasig City. Running from February 10 to 25, the two-week initiative serves an estimated 800 Grade 1-6 learners and school personnel, delivering free preventive care, diagnostic services, and medical consultations directly within the school community.

(L-R) Kap. Quin Cruz, Brgy. Manggahan Chairman; Yvone Flores, Robinsons Land Foundation Inc. (RLove) CSR Head; Atty. John Matthew Kua, Southstar Drug Corporate Affairs Manager; Rachelle Joy Go, Ideal Vision Asst. Vice President for Marketing; Dr. Junette Permitez, Manggahan Elementary School Head; Christian Argos, Maxicare Group President and CEO; and SchoolNurse Alexander Gunio gather during the RLC x Maxicare Medical Mission appreciation program at Manggahan Elementary School, reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing accessible and preventive healthcare in the community.

The medical mission is organized by Robinsons Land Foundation (RLove) in partnership with Maxicare, Southstar Drug, Ideal Vision, the Department of Education (DepEd), and the Pasig City Government. The initiative is designed to complement national health goals, particularly in advancing preventive care and early detection among children. By demonstrating a scalable model for early detection and child health interventions, the mission showcases the power of public-private synergy in strengthening community-based healthcare.

“Maxicare believes that healthy kids grow into great leaders. By nurturing their minds and caring for their health now, we help build a brighter, stronger future,” said Christian Argos, President and CEO of Maxicare Group. “This vision is only possible because we are working as one. We are proud to partner with the Robinsons Land Foundation, Southstar Drug, Ideal Vision, the Department of Education, and the Local Government of Pasig to support this community. ”

Advancing preventive care through collaboration

Medical professionals from Maxicare provide free diagnostic services and consultations to students and school personnel during the two-week medical mission, bringing essential preventive care directly to the Manggahan Elementary School community.

Maxicare is offering free X-ray services, select laboratory tests, and medical consultations throughout the mission period. By bringing these services directly to the school community, the initiative reduces common access barriers such as transportation costs, time limitations, and delayed diagnosis to ensure students and school personnel receive timely medical attention and guidance.

The appreciation program held on February 20 gathered representatives from partner organizations, government units, school leaders, parents, and educators to recognize the collective effort behind the initiative and reaffirm a shared commitment to community health.

“Through Robinsons Land Foundation, we are committed to supporting programs that create measurable and lasting impact in the communities we serve,” said Constantino “Tante” Felipe, Robinsons Land Foundation Executive Director. “This collaboration with Maxicare, the Pasig City Government, and the Department of Education reflects our shared vision of strengthening preventive healthcare at the grassroots level. When the private sector aligns its resources with public sector priorities, we can help build systems that are more responsive, more inclusive, and better equipped to support the well-being of Filipino children.”

Supporting local healthcare priorities

The initiative underscores Maxicare’s recognition of the Pasig City Government’s ongoing efforts to expand healthcare access and improve service delivery at the community level. Byaligning corporate capabilities with local priorities, Maxicare continues to demonstrate openness to collaborate with both government and fellow private sector partners in advancing the goals of the Universal Health Care Law.

“As we look ahead, our focus remains on deepening partnerships that enable sustainable, community-based healthcare solutions. Beyond initiatives like this medical mission, we are also bringing accessible options such as our PRIMA Healthcare Cards and LifesavER Emergency Cards closer to Filipino families.” Argos added. “Ito’y para mas madali ang pag- aalaga sa kalusugan ninyo at ng ating mga anak dahil mayroon itong mas accessible na regular checkups, at agarang tulong sa mga emergency. We can assure you that Maxicare at ang iba pa naming kasama sa private sector are always ready to work with the government on programs that support the betterment of our kababayans, lalo na para sa kabataan.”

Through initiatives such as this medical mission, Maxicare deepens its mission of helping Filipinos live better lives through more accessible health services and plans to reinforce its role as a trusted healthcare partner in communities nationwide.
